YOUR Ship IN STAR WARS... for real.

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

GCW era/in the game? HWK-290 is what I lean towards the most. Maybe a YV-666, but the HWK is close to perfect. Small, customizable ship that still has more room than a starfighter. If we are going outside the minis game (and the era) then it is just no contest.

Defender Class Light Corvette, baby.

I love how they have secret compartments but not a shower or toilet to be found.

Common problem in most sci fi designs.

I once saw a ship design that looks a lot like a larger decimator that specifically did show toilets etc. Was impressed.

while i think this thread should be in 'off topic' its a cool idea so....

Fighter: Tie Interceptor every time, love the look and i've got the flight kit anyway :)

Something i'd live in and travel the galaxy?: Decimator... just imagine the views you'd get travelling space with that huge domed bridge! :)

:)

In seriousness i imagine that the 'cabins' have their own 'heads' (what toilets are called on ship, i think because you used to relieve yourself over the side of the focastle near the figurehead back in the days of sail)

close: ts because they used to be at the front or 'head' of the ship

I LOVED Star Wars Galaxies for that, flying around the decimator with a crew and NPC Stormtroopers / Officers. Imperial banners and meeting tables carefully positioned around.

The only problem with the Decimator is the seriously underwhelming name.

So it kills one in ten things it comes up against then? Not so impressive...

Should have called it the Decapitator or something similar

Ehh I get that, but It was a frightful and brutal punishment for the time. So I take it in a less literal and more fearful/common tongue use.

A city has been decimated means a lot more than 1/10 of it being leveled.

Figuratively yeah but literally it means 'to remove 10 per cent'

I'll grant you in real war 20 per cent casulties are 'high' and enough to make most forces disengage or choose a new route of attack , and i our games we play til 'every ones dead' so realism isnt really in the offing given xwing has no morale system

I just think it was a poorly chosen name, i get that these days it means 'to do a lot of damage' but i've had an imperial roman ancients army for years so i always see the word in its real meaning.

It was a horrific punishment because the guys from your maniple/cohort/century/conturburnium had to carry out the punishment rather than the fact it was a lot of deaths.

On an aside, it alway irked me that a 'century' was actually around 80 men not 100....

It irks me that the church tower in Warwick has a 4 rendered as IIII not IV.

But yeah, I knew the above - but good expo to those that didn't, I should probably have explaiend that out. History is awesome.

God I am really excited for my NEB-B now. Totes going to bring that to any Epic games held in the HRM (Halifax / Dartmouth) that I get invited to.

Tie Phantom, hands down. Such a powerful and awesome looking ship.

It irks me that the church tower in Warwick has a 4 rendered as IIII not IV.

Very common in imperial rome, IIII and IV were interchangeable if i recall.

You see it on images of legionary banners and records.

I imagine whomever did the church tower was trying to be 'classical' :)

edit: apparently its the convention for clocks. it does date from the roman 'looseness'' of their numerical system that carried through to the medieval period and later.

So you wake up and you are in the STAR WARS Universe for real.

:o  :D

You have the ability/authority to acquire ANY SHIP in the game, as your own!

When you fly off in it, it is your ship with no negative ramifications, NO meta-yarbelings , NO yabs about being F'n Viable , just BOOM: you are in STAR WARS and you can get any ship you want for your own.

When JJ and crew fly by to do some mood filming they will see you and you will be know as Dat guy in Dat ship in the background of the story... GLORY!

:P

Mine would be a Firespray-31.

:D

Boom wake up and man your ship... hurrah YOU ARE IN STAR WARS NOW!

What did you get Brahs?

:)

That is a tough one

That's like inviting me to a barbecue and saying I must pick only one piece of meat.

Am I allowed an astromech too?

I'd take a good old X-Wing. My first Star Wars toy was an X-Wing, with wings that opened and closed by pressing the R2-D2 on top. I really have a nostalgic fondness for X-Wing.

My first star wars ship was a Y wing and i put the R5 D4 in that, it was a great toy and most my mates had xwings and i liked that i had something different, and a different astromech!

I've got a soft spot for Y wings ever since,

Tie Droid. ;)

as some a starfighter i would go with the Cloakshape fighter cause shields and hyperdrive so no need of a freighter

if i have to pick a freighter i would go with the Firespray cause it needs just one guy to pilot the whole thing

I love how in Firefly they opened by having the captain taking a leak and stowing away the toilet after using it, very realistic.

I really want something with a ramp. Always wanted something with a ramp. The Falcon or Outrider would seem ideal, but I'm actually thinking Decimator would be the best option. But I'm taking a couple of Twilek female crew with me for "upgrades".

Your decimator should have the Mara Jade + Isard Crew cards...

I'd pick one of them nice chrome Nubian J-types that Amidala used to fly in. you can say what you want about the prequel triolgy, but those Naboo had some great looking ships

Oh, whatever ship i'd get i'd have a bumper sticker marked <redacted>, but involves the term "my other ride" and twi'lek slave girls.

We cannot personify alien species as such. Other races have different needs than humans and may not require latrines.

Well I would test fly them all first.......

Credits aren't an issue? =D

If I was being practical and flying around with my posse, any of the YT series or the VCX-100. I'd probably go 2400 - those looks yo.

If I was just going to fly around by myself/with my droid companion the X-Wing The T-70 preferably.

The TIE Phantom is very tempting though. Cloaking seems like a pretty significant advantage in an Empire at war provided you could keep it in good repair and you have room for a pal. Or a bounty. :P

VT-49 modded to be my personal home in the stars. Like living in a yacht. A big, scary yacht.
