By clontroper5, in Star Wars: Armada

sign up now closed.

Ceryliae has gracefully offered use of his small team speak server

Server: jwb.ts.nfoservers.com********

Rules: standard tournament rules apply with the following exceptions...

-400 point fleets

-only wave 1 ships and upgrades

-each round will last for 1 week during which time you will be expected to pm your opponent and set up a time to play

-every one will be divided into "pods" and each of your first 3 opponents will be in this pod

-after the pods there will be 1 "open round" without pod restrictions to determine the final ranking

The tournament will begin Thursday the 24th of September at midnight (00:00) GMT. (This is 17:00 Wednesday my time, Pacific time)

To sign up:

-post your time zone and *preferred time of day to play*

-before the tournament begins post your list, if you do not want your list to be public knowledge untill the event begins (like me) you may pm it to me and I will cheack it (I have all ready chosen my list and it will not influence me)

*everything on this post is subject to change. Leave your input on our structure and rules in the following link*

https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/188266-lets-have-a-400-point-tournament-as-a-send-off-to-wave-one/

Additional information:

*pods* once everyone is signed up I will assign everyone a group called a pod. Each pod will have 4-6 players and will be assigned based on time zone and preferred time to play

I.e. I have posted 6:00pm Pacific time so I will be put in a pod that has other players who are free around 6:00 pm my time

*open round* this will take place after the pod rounds and everyone will be paired according to mov and tournament points as in a standard tournament game

*objectives*every list must include 3 objectives however these objectives are TO REMAIN SECRET UNTIL YOUR GAMES SO DO NOT POST THEM.

-note that these cannont change just like any other part of your list

*Tournament points* we will use the following scale to determine points

5 and 5 = 0-25

6 and 4 = 26-65

7 and 3 = 66-120

8 and 2 = 121-200

9 and 1 = 201-295

10 and 0 = 296+

(Thanks to Biggsirl for creating this scale)

Ohhh double whale and the aces. . . Interesting

Ill probably have to skip this one, if you dont want to increase round length or postpone the start until TC Galactic Open is finished. Any chance for that?

I don't want to wait to long or wave 2 is going to get here

I prefer to play at 6pm GMT

I think I'm gonna skip this one. Armada games are pretty long on Vassal and the 2 out of 3 games I actually played in the last one messed up my schedule pretty bad. It's hard to play a 3-4 hour game (we had 5 for the first game) with a 10+ hour difference.

I would like to sign up.

I am in Australia, but can play 3am GMT (which suits USA players) or 12 noon GMT (which suits Australian players)

Therefor I can be in either a USA or Asia/Pacific pod, whichever is needed.

INTERNATIONAL GAME PLANNER:

http://www.timeanddate.com

Enter your city and your opponent's city and see a variety of colour coded time slots.

I'd like to participate (this would be my first Vassal experience).

CET (Central European Time). Typically available in the evenings, but I'm sure we can work something out.

Count me in, pretty flexible around GMT daytime hours. List will follow when I can make up my mind on one.

There's also this, which is quite helpful:

Biggs is in! I am EDT (-4) Pittsburgh with a strange schedule (Free all day Sunday / Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday and booked solid with work Thursday / Friday / Saturday).

Ive got some hilarious ideas to run this tournamemt, but i have to put them together 1st.

I'm in too. EDT (-4) and prefer to play evenings, generally after 20:00 my time.

I really want in, but I won't be able to play between Sept 25th and October 5th. If that puts me out of contention, I'll understand. :)

The point of these pods is to remove as much of the time difference as possible.

Of course up to you but This should be better then the last one :)

Yeah, sorry. I'll be here for the next one though. Plus I'm still going to train IRL for the 300pts Sullust event, and this would be disruptive. It would make me buy all the guppies!

I will go take your name off...

I'm in. My time/availability is somewhat finicky, though I've made it work for the previous tourney. I'm in Vancouver BC, PST (-8), and am able to play most nights from ~10pm until about 1am (that's GMT 0500-0800) or early mornings on Sat/Sun 5am - 9am (GMT 1200-1600). Except weekends when I work, which is about once a month.

My suggestion is everyone translate their available times to GMT/UTC (not just their time zones), to make the matchmaking less of a headache for the organizers.

List to follow...

I'm in. Texas, CST available every day after 14:00. (21:00 GMT)
