Who would buy...?

Who would buy a plastic kit with models of all the smaller-than-Cruiser ships? (Cruisers already come in plastic...)

Perhaps coming out in conjunction with a Starship supplement to RT?

Plastics would look better than the current metal molds (which gotta be pretty old by now) and 1 metal Light Cruiser costs substantially more than 2 Plastic Cruisers.

Can't say BFG minis don't sell because while I don't know about GW, Forge World is "Out of Stock" on almost their entire line of BFG stuff, so the assumption is somebody is buying them!

I'm just wondering who would buy this (besides me)?

I think the real question is if GW will allow FFG to produce miniatures for DH, RT, or Deathwatch (if and when it is published)? BFG was one of GW's non-core games, so it would get about a year of support, maybe one supplement and then quietly ignored to make way for the Next Cool Game (which will be quietly ignored next year). I hate to say it, but you will most likely see no new plastics for BFG.

That would leave FFG to produce models for either game - which I don't think they are permitted to do.

I saw the BFG ships on Ebay last night. They usually have quite a few on there, and I do not see how they would not work.

Having new ships within 40k setting from FFG would be awesome. Personally I love all models in the BFG range. Some more then others. On the other hand there are other manufacturers who have also cool lines (gzg for instance).
