I just recently played my first 300p game with a list of 2 cr90 and one neb led by Mon mothma with a bunch of squadrons. I lost, but not by too much around 50-60 points and I learned a few things.
You don't want to bring too many y,b and x-wings without having enough squadrons to boost them but a-wings seem to be able to work independently thanks to "counter"
It's also a bad idea to let someone do a hyperspace assault if you plan to flank the enemy fleet and squadron supported b-wings are super nasty vs speed 2 ships.
So I'm going to buy either a neb expansion or another corvette and build a 4 small ship list with a smaller but better focused fighter support.
The first list I'm thinking about is:
Cr90 A
Cr90 A
"Jaina's light"
Escort Neb-B
"Yavaris"
Support Neb-B
2 B-wings
1 Y-wing
1 X-wing
1 Tycho celchu
Not sure if Mothma should be on support neb or empty cr90.
2nd list:
Cr90 A
Mon mothma
Cr90 A
Cr90 A
"Jaina's light"
Escort Neb-B
2 B-wings
2 Y-wing
1 X-wing
1 Tycho celchu
The plan is to put 2 b-wing squads with an x-wing escort with the escort neb. Tycho will intercept enemy blockers or bombers and the y-wings are flexible point filler.
cr90's will try to flank and try isolate a single target for the neb supported fighters to attack.
What list to you think will work and what would be the smartest purchase?
Do you have another list idea with the ships above?
Tips for 300p rebels and next purchase needed
There are some nice cards in the AF expansion and it's a nice ship. But if you don't want to go that route, I'd go Corvette over Neb. I just have a hard time not watching my Nebs melt in a hurry.
I run a double/double NebB & CR90 list, one of each class, and a Squadron compliment of 2xA's & 2xB's & 1 X-wing. As you mentioned, I keep the B's escorted by the X close to Yavaris where a single Squadron command lets the B's do some work aided by the X if I've got a token saved. Meanwhile, the A's are ready to intercept enemy squadrons off the other NebB with another command.
I've been very happy with my fleet, I'm sure you'll enjoy too if you give it a go.
