Chronicles of the Gatekeeper Preview

This would make a good pilgrimage style quest for a character. Looks like it'll expand upon the Foresee Force Power talent tree in ways that are interesting.

The power kinda sounds like Shatterpoint.

I usually don't go for adventure books, but I've been impressed by how useful they've been outside their intended use. This one has me the most excited to actually run it.

I'm curious to see how they will handle these new Force powers. The Guardian book seems to be introducing a new one as well. I'm not sure I like the idea of several more whole trees, that will start to feel fragmented and arbitrary like Saga. It feels to me like the existing Force powers cover pretty much everything one would need. But side branches or alternate paths of existing powers could be interesting.

I have a group waiting to play this adventure but it's taking its time getting to the shelves.

I'm the same

I wasn't go to bother with ANY adventure book. But when I read this I knew I wanted to have the new power tree, and play the adventure, or a adventure inspired by it, to earn the abilities.

Is a new Force Power or some kind of evolution/update?

It says it is a variant and that it exists in parallel, and that it developed to be different from the Foresee power.

I think having more powers out there is upto the GM to allow at their table or not. There are many powers that can't be placed in a current tree such as Phase. There are others that players want to see. In Saga I liked 70% of the powers and the rest I made rare and unavailable to players unless they quest for it and bought the book instead of me since many players don't wanna buy more than the core.

I wonder if it's going to be treated like Same Specs from different careers; your Force User can only learn Foresee OR Foresight.

I don't see why you can't have both. one looks at a person the other is more general.

They might cover all of the powers classically associated with Jedi, but there are powers out there unknown to Jedi...

So if I wanted to figure out when this thing will finally get off the blasted boat, would that be Forsee or Foresight?

Forsee for seeing if you will buy it. Foresight for seeing when the clerk puts it on the shelf.

I think the boat this adventure has been on for so long is The Flying Dutchman.

That would explain quite a bit......

The release date was meant to be Q3, so there's about 5 days remaining to get in that window. Or we could just ignore FFG's release schedules :P

Okay, so it's been on a boat for 2 whole months now ... a yacht circumnavigated the globe in only 45 days!?!?!??!

Who is this freaking captain, Captain Hook? Is this coming from Neverland? Is it stuck in the Bermuda Triangle?

I suppose it's all good though, our group won't actually be ready for it for a while yet (we still have the Beginner's Guide, Beginner's Guide bonus, Corebook Adventure and then GM screen adventure yet before we're ready to tackle this).

That's what you for hiring a captin that goes on about some whale.

We're gonna need a bigger boat....

Perhaps pirates have held the boat ransom and ffg refuse to pay

I found that a bit frustrating personally.

Yes, I already know we can play it with the other books, thanks.

It's been a fallow year and I'd like some new EoE stuff that isn't an adventure.
