Please give us a new FAQ, FFG

By Rinehart, in X-Wing

We have questions in search of answers. Wave 7 and the new Core are out and they deserve a new FAQ and a new Tournament Rules document.

Seriously, any time guys, the sooner the better.

We will get one before Worlds. They are probably going to wait until after the new Core set is fully available.

Ya I feel like once fully released there will be an entire article addressing the changes in the new core, at which point new FAQ and Tourney rules would follow.

And then FFG looked down and whispered, "No."

Ya I feel like once fully released there will be an entire article addressing the changes in the new core, at which point new FAQ and Tourney rules would follow.

They said on Force Friday an article about the new core set impact on organized play was coming up. They also said the ships would get their own articles. So we are waiting for the OP article still.

On the 3rd I will be at a tournament, hopefully they have it done by then, I hate having to tell people they interpreted the rules wrongly according to some e-mail one of the designers send someone on some forum they never visited. It just never works.

Hey, as the TO, if any players any give you any grief about one of your rulings, all you have to do is say, "I have altered the rules. Pray I do no alter them any further."

Yeah. Wave 7 really needs some FAQ ASAP

Yup because of the SLAM issue that is in the air they are going to have to completely reword the SLAM action card in the FAQ....unless they actually read it first and see that yeah it should work that way.

SLAM's no longer in air. You can't drop bombs before a SLAM because no dial is revealed: that's what the rules card and the email clarifications say. The only thing suggesting you could was the article, and that's been changed now.

Things that need FAQs are Bossk Crew (two conflicting precedents in the form of Accuracy Corrector and R7-T1), the Raider's primary weapon (confirmed to only fire from the fore as you'd expect but the rulebook fails to specify it), and the Connor Net ruling needs to go in there too to clear up how premaneuver ionization works.

Apparently FFG has a schedule for FAQs, they aren't updated as and when they're needed. Probably because licensing or something.

Should've just FAQ'd the card to match the article, because that was a lot cooler. With things as is the Punisher is actually better at dropping non-action bombs (Adv.Sensors and Boost) and with Deathrain, well, at least as good with action bombs as well.

Deathrain is a named pilot with a bomb related ability: he's in the Emon league. Comparing the bombing power of Deathrain to the K-wing is like comparing the attack power of Wedge Antilles to that of a TIE defender: it's not fair to compare generic stats with a unique pilot ability, especially cross-faction.

On K-wing versus TIE punisher they both have a maneuver bomb trick. The Punisher can AdvSensors into Boost. This lets it bomb further forward, either on top of its starting position with the straight or slightly offset with a bank. The K-wing can take Bombardier, allowing it to bomb further back.

The K-wing shares its trick with the Firespray and Decimator, which can also take Bombardier as they combine the Bomb and Crew slots. The Punisher shares its trick with the Aggressor, which combines the Bomb and System slots.
