I think an ebony or nice solid gray would be pretty cool - probably gray so the wood grain is still somewhat visible. Don't know if that's even remotely one of the options, though.

If not I could I just get one unstained and finish it myself?

Probably the last day to get stuff for sullust weekend. Have one tray ready to ship. Most likely would make it just fine in the continental US. I do a large base ready as well but still haven't confirmed with the base.

Ship docks have become made to order, taking a day start to finish. Those would be 'possible' to ship tomorrow to make it. Depending on the quantity. :-D

I can now say that I have perfected large base model slots and will begin cutting those as quickly as I can.

I wasn't sure how exactly everything should fit in. It seemed like it should be sideways, but then the ship card was also sideways. I just fiddled with it until I ended up with it like that. The upgrade cards don't really seem like they belong where they are, since they're bigger than any of the compartments, but I'm not sure what would be better. Is this for an alternate art ship card? That'd make a lot of sense.

And yeah, I was disappointed I couldn't make it to the tournament. Oh well, there will be more.

So. What stain choice should I go with if I am going to stock many large base transport trays?

So. Just a heads up for those interested/with orders in. I have had recent electrical and mechanical problems relating to my machine. They have all been fixed, but this had led to some serious issues with a few products I was attempting to make a stock of and two I was working on. Fortunately I caught the issues before shipping the products.

I now have the machine back on track and finishing large trays and ship docks as I type this. To those with orders in.. they will be done soon and ship.

Finally have some better pictures for the ship dock styles.

I have a lovely hand made wooden box with a lid that was designed for X Wing. It works great for my Rebel lists but there's no way it could fit the ISD. Good thing I rarely play Imps.

You don't have any area for obstacles. Is it possible to add an area let's say under the board or something like that to slide them in? This way you don't have to create a milled area just for them?

Seeing this thread for the first time makes me want to try my hand at designing a ship dock... I have ideas, but no way to make them...

I have a tourny tray like this that works for Xwing and STAW (what I used it for) and always got a lot of compliments for it, I'd love to have one for if I start playing in Armada tournies too. And the ship docks at least I could use in normal games even.

I've been using this at every league night so far and I've found it incredibly handy. The spot where I have the damage deck is a little tricky to use, though that's probably because mine aren't sleeved. I wonder if some vertical element to the damage card slot and the token supply slots might be helpful, to allow stacking of tokens - you can have over 20 tokens if you fill all the ship spots, not to mention having any unique fighters. Also when I first got the tray and dock, almost my first thought was it'd be awesome if there were some way to clip the dock on the bottom of the tray so it can all be carried together. I can't imagine the kind of engineering that would go into that, though! I'm sure it'd be cost-prohibitive.

I'm happy with the tray as is and am using it every week. Please don't take any of the above musings as actual suggestions or requests - no thought has been given to practicality, feasibility, time, or cost required to alter the design.

The only problem with clipping the dock to the bottom. Is most people need 3-5 8 for evil rebels. Lol. But. It's definitely something to think about.

I think the next thing on my list to make. Or try anyway. Is a stand alone damage deck holder with a dice for turn counter and token slot. I'll show it when I have a prototype. :-D glad you like it.

I think the design as is is fine. Realizing I should get a carrying tray or something eventually. The more events I go to the more I realize it's a problem keeping the cases in some of the stores.

I'll have to keep an eye out.

That is a small cap ship tray but I like it. Does it fit cards with sleeves?
