4 hwks

I was thinking of flying a new version of stressbots...

4 Spice Runners with TLT and Tactition on all 4. Thats a solid chance for 8 damage a turn and 8 stress given a turn.

Thoughts?

I'm not a tactician pro, but I'm pretty sure the stress only happens once with TLT/Clusters. Plus, with tactitian being in effect only while the opponent is in your primary arc, it won't be as effective as you'd like.

Its 2 attacks, so as long as they are in arc, that would be 2 stress... I could be wrong, but it seems pretty simple via reading the cards.

And as it has to be range 2-3, it's not too hard to get ships in at least a couple of the arcs of the 4 ships. Even if you aren't stressing every ship every attack, they will still be receiving more stress than they could easily clear over the course of a round or two of firing.

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call it 'a solid chance' to cause 8 stress a turn with the HWK's dial, but it's possible. I do think maybe we should consider that there's a point of diminishing returns with stress, though, and that anything close to 8 stress a turn is unnecessary. Don't we have the points to throw a couple Recon Specialists on some of them? We lose the chance to cause some stress increase the likelihood of getting damage through. Might have tokens left for defense as well.

I also think it's funny that no one is calling THIS TLT list boring to fly and boring to fly against. Guess it gets a hipster pass for using HWKs. But that's not to say that I don't respect the attempt to be innovative! Just not sure we actually need so much stress to justify taking four ships with brutal dials and squishy defensive profiles.

Possibly comparible to a BTL-A4 Y-Wing with R3-A2, but that brings a much-desired Ion to the table as well.

Might consider running 1 HWK with your build, 2 B-Wings and the Y-Wing sans title, and seeing how it goes from there.

I'll agree it's not a phenomenal way of 8 stress a turn, but you should be stressing your opponent fairly often. The more you can get them stressed, the more you can hit them cause they can't focus or evade (Soontir and Tycho not included). It's just a fun little troll list I'd like to try. Perhaps making it rebels and mixing it with some B-Wings would be good.

HWKs cannot K-turn, so no, you won't be stressing fairly often. Yes you might get some stress the first turn of engagement, but after that, it will be very difficult to get tactician to activate. Plus you will have bigger problems (enemy ships behind you in your range 1 no-fire zone...)

To make this sort of list work, you either need engine upgrade or give one of the HWKs an autoblaster turret.

I ran HWKs with TLT and Rec Spec - felt that was pretty good.

tactician = 2 points = feedback array

range 2-3 pewpew; range 1 bzzzzzzzzzzzzzt
