The TIE-like panels on the Raider have always struck me as a bit 'off', and I know a lot of folks were talking shortly after its announcement about how they were planning to pull them off...

That leaves me wondering...has anyone done that, yet? If so - pics?

My port side panel was curved down. I plan on taking it off; melt it the opposite way a little and reattaching it.

Yeah, I ripped mine off. I fully intend to reattach them though, I only pulled them off to repaint the thing. And I wouldn't have even done that if it weren't for the frankly dire paintjob that it shipped with.

I've been wanting to take them off to make it easier to spray paint.

The side wings should just pop off, more or less from what I can tell just touching them.

The bottom wing is gonna be a lot tougher due to the extra reinforcement poles/stems/whatevers? Probably gonna just have to hack at it with flush cutters or an Xacto saw.

Could we get some pics of this? I was thinking about placing some turrets on the nubs on mine.

I took apart the 2nd Lambda shuttle I bought to remove the nubs that prevent the wings from deploying smoothly.

Now the wings come down fine, but I can't get them to stay up anymore, I sanded too much.

I thought about it... I really did but I have to admit, despite my initial impression... I really like the look of the Raider with the "solar panels"*

Not to mention, the new Tie F/Os have WHITE panels!! That has to mean radiator/cooling, because if they were solar collection panels they would have to be black to absorb as much as possible!!!
