Thinking a bit more: a TIE-only modification or title that duplicated Experimental Interface could do a lot to revitalize several ships.
What if it only worked to give an EPT to ships without an EPT, and stipulated that the EPT they choose must have the "Action:" header? Make it 0-2 points, and Alpha Interceptors might be a thing. As a title, it _definitely_ helps Defenders (in conjunction with engine MRK2), and even as a mod, on PS1/3 Defenders it becomes interesting. Same thinking applies to a few of the TIE Advanced pilots. Storm Squadron Pilot at Range 3 (of enemies) with AC and Squad Leader, in charge of a few APs could be interesting. Assuming it's a mod. As a title it wouldn't be nearly as good as the X1.
Even the Phantom could benefit without, I think, being overpowered. The stress part of the mod/title would leave it very predictable, and unable to cloak. If it's a mod, goodbye to Stygian. Even if the Phantom takes said mod/title, it would mean the low PS ships would be flying in completely new ways. That could be _fun_.
Granted, there might be an obvious downside I don't see. ![]()
The first three cards in the third row look like: Expert Handing, Expose and Marksmanship.
Agree, nice catch!
... those are all universally awful cards for a TIE fighter. I am now deeply curious what they think they're doing with them here.
The x3 with no symbols: Betcha at least one set is the TIE MkII Engine. And the others will be in the same vein - not fixes per se, but useful-to-a-bunch-of-TIEs.
The thing I'm most exited for is the Ps3 generic. That looks like the Death Star trench! Maybe a member of Black Squadron? The one that Luke shot?
Anyway, it's nice to have a thread not about the X-wing 'fix'. Both sides are very passionate about it eh? Good work creating a thread with the only thing that brings us all together: wild, unsubstantiated speculation!
The MSRP is $70. A bit of Googling says Miniature Market is offering it at $48.27 for preorders, or about their usual 30% discount.Hmm, does anyone have an idea on how much this will cost in $? Assuming I get it from miniaturemarket or someplace at a discount. I normally don't do large ships but this one looks somewhat tempting.
Which is pretty amazing, considering there's two TIEs in the box

You'd basically be paying $20 for the Gozanti itself. That's quite a bargain!
I only hope we get some of the cards (aside of Agent Kallus) for standard play. Titles, upgrades, EPT or whatever, not only the TIE pilots.
Lots of x3 cards so there are probabilities I guess.
Well unless a <crew> upgrade card say huge ship only or have a mechanic that only works with huge ships (such as spending energy) it will be likely used for standard play.
As for EPTs they will always be standard play because huge ships can't take them. Huge ships can only take <crew> <cargo> <hardpoint> <team> titles and modifications that say huge ship only. The rest is for standard play.
Can't see much until I get my new glasses on Wednesday, I wanted implants but apparently spec savers don't do cybernetic augmentation.
I've written a strongly worded letter to their head office.

Half-formed thought here... Do those cards become universally UN-awful on a TIE Fighter if they are the second EPT a TIE can take? Which might allow us to wildly speculate that we will see an A-Wing Test Pilot type of upgrade for TIE's?
Now the thought is three-quarter formed... Maybe it's a title for TIEs that lets them perform a free action from an upgrade card with the Action header. That might make better sense of those particular EPTs.
Wonder when they will release another article on it. Maybe to do with how the ties deploy.
I would assume they'd deploy the same way the Pup deploys, only without the requirement that the thing blows up first. Only thing is I don't see anything on the Gozanti card that could be a deploy action. It could be a title or upgrade that grants the ability to carry and deploy TIEs. Or it could be a new native part of the Activation phase.

I don't think those cards become any less awful (considering their point cost) when combo'd with another EPT. I can't think of another EPT that helps make a TIE want to perform an Expose action (maybe VI?) or spend points on Marksmanship.
I think it would be more likely (and I think someone said this earlier) that the modification would do something for TIE fighters who take an action from an EPT Action: header. (Such as, and I'm spitballing examples, "When you perform an action not listed on your action bar, you may perform 1 free Evade action." Or "When you perform an action listed on an equipped EPT, you may receive 1 stress to allow a friendly ship at Range 1 to perform the same action, even if they don't have the same upgrade card.")
Maybe it lets you convert 'Action' headers into cheaper, one use cards that don't need an action? I'd like to see that!

The Gozanti's ability stated on the card is to deploy two fighters.

Take a second look. Take your time. Look real closely, there it is!
The thing that's interesting to me is how the three EPTs identified in the fan are all of the "Action:" subtype. I wonder if one of those TIE pilots will have a built-in Experimental Interface effect, or something that would otherwise allow them to use those EPTs without penalty.
Chiraneau crew!
X points
Add one EPT.
Is the lambda getting an EPT?!?!?!
Edit; nevermind Chiraneau is clearly huge ship only. I still say the others are too expensive.

Even if they are made useful the cost on them is a bit much for a TIE fighter ept, right? It doesn't look like Chiraneau has a limiter on ship size. You wouldn't want a Raider to Barrel Roll now would you. (well, actually...)

Considering it comes with TWO TIES that are normally about $10 each, that leaves about $29 for the Gozanti itself!! Pretty cheap for a Huge ship!
2nd row of upgrade cards looks like 9(3, 3 & 3) mods and 3 titles since they have no icons on the corner. Mods might be for docking/docked ships(though why not 4 in that case as it can have 4?).
The ship card says it can take a weapon but it doesn't look like any of the 3 known ones are there in the spread making it likely that one set of the doubles in the 1st row are a new weapon card. Can't rely on people having another huge ship so if the ship can have a weapon, it probably comes with one. Same for Energy cards.
1st set of doubles looks like a droid arm(angular and sharp). Maybe a huge ship crew card.
The rest of the row to the left of the 1st set of double cards are likely all EPTs to use on the new TIEs.
Is it true that Gozanti, like Rebel Transport, can't attack?
I went through all the cards on cardgamedb for the LCG and can't seem to find corresponding art for the Mon Cal picture, so no help there.
Is it true that Gozanti, like Rebel Transport, can't attack?
It can be given a weapon upgrade card like the Ion Battery or Single Turbo or Quad Laser cannon. It does not gave an Attack on the card. It needs a weapon upgrade or it basically is the Rebel Transport.
The idea that a TIE fighter provided in this pack might trigger Expose, Marksmanship and the like for free is not a bad idea.
But that's why this Huge ship has the Coordinate Action. It would be even cooler if one of the Gozanti titles allowed it to multiply that action a bit further, something like: every ship at range 1 may benefit from Coordinate instead of only 1 ship. It would make for a deadly pass.
Edited by Mu0nOne of the title cards probably lets you drop all 4 TIEs after a move.
Ya I'm REALLY curious why they included these EPTs. I mean, these are bad EPTs. Expose is probably Top 5 worst upgrades in the game. I would love to see a reason to put any of these on the table!
