Lore Spirit Tareebeard aggro

By Gizlivadi, in Strategy and deck-building

So this type of deck IMO can be built with a variety of heroes. I think Treebeard must be the center of most of the Lore portion of the deck. It could also be built with Tactics and go full Ent deck, but I wanted a more general purpose deck and since most of combat will be done by Treebeard, I prefer Spirit for the willpower and action advantage. Even within these spheres, it could be much better if it ran Glorfindel and LoV. Since I have him and those cards in my Gandalf deck, this is just the version I could build, but it's pretty powerful nonetheless. This is just Treebeard with Galadriel, trying to take advantage of both heroes. Lembas with Treebeard is amazing action advantage, along with Miruvor and of course Courage. Very enjoyable deck to play. Any advice or criticism is more than welcome.

Cool deck. You might add in Erebor Hammersmiths to get the Lembas back. I'm also not totally sold on the Minstrels in non-Silvan decks, particularly when you only have 9 events. Even Entmoot is kind of risky considering you only have 11 Ent cards. Elrond's Council would be good, but I'm guessing it's in the other deck. I'd also try to fit in at least once more Burning Brand.

You are totally right. Galadhrim Minstrel frecuently whiffs, and the Dwarf makes much more sense. I just added her because I like the art. Now Entmoot is great even here, as it fetches Quickbeam and the Draughts. I think you're right about Burning Brand. Thanks!

I just built an even more insane version of this deck, with Glorfindel and Elrond, took it against Journey in the Dark and needless to say it stomped the quest. I took out Nenya and the less important cards for Vilya, LoV, Asfaloth, etc. and it is insane. The extra healing brought by Elrond really turns Treebeard into a beast. There comes a point in which his pool of hitpoints becomes the overall meter of the whole deck. When you give Treebeard stuff like Lembas, Unexpected Courage and Miruvor, you can control exactly how much willpower and attack you need, and even you have 2 strong defenders if needed. And inmediately after using Treebeard's ability, all the healing effects mitigate the drawbacks completely. This has quickly become one of my favorite decks as of late.

Sounds like a fun deck. Do you include any Wellinghall Preservers?

I certainly would, if I had them!

Built a Faramir/Hobbit ent deckdeck recently(LoS Faramir) and have Wellinghall Preservers in it. Only gotten them out a few times, but they seem pretty bonkers. 3 WP on a 3 cost ally is massive. And that doesn't touch on their other stats or the heal. They should be very solid in your Treebeard deck.

For any Spanish readers out there, I just posted the insane version of the deck over here .

Really like the deck! I'm now also playing a Lore-Spirit deck with Galadriel, Elrong and Mirlonde.

For the legion of Spirit Glorfindel haters out there, I guess you could replace him with Spirit Merry or Spirit Frodo.

I'm about to try a mono-sphere deck with Galadriel, Merry and Glorfindel, based on keeping in play the ally Gandalf (the one not from the core set) and also to recycle Saruman. I would also give Gandalf is Staff and Shadowfax, to ready him, and copies of Flame of Anor (especially for Saruman with is 5 attacks).
