I keep seeing people post about the TAP and it throws me off. Tie Advanced Prototype. Well, the V1 and the X1 are both prototypes. So, the TAP can really apply to both.

Also, it's a lot easier to type V1 instead of TAP. Also, you can differentiate it from Vader's ship by just saying X1. It's easier to identify and easier to type.

But the real issue is that the V1 is a title that comes with the TAP. So there is a difference between a Tie Adv. Prototype and a Tie Adv. Prototype V1. So you can't use the same designation for both.

V1 is actually harder to type on a standard qwerty keyboard and any mobile device so let's instead wonder the best load for the inquisitor. I think I like him with V1, paired with the Omega Ace+ptl and I can't decide, Vader? Soontir? A pair of other interceptors?

V1 is a TITLE, not a ship (as is X1). The names of the ships (in X-wing) are TIE Advanced and TIE Adv. Prototype (or TAP for short).

I too am pretty sure there's no way the tie adv. prototype gets to use the x1 title, but if it can I'm 100% okay with flying the 'always range 1' pilot with advanced targeting computer. That seems like a monstrosity that would run the board pretty well.
