Horrors from Beyond

I think this is Off Topic because it is...weird

Yesterday we played a Pulp escenario. I took a "Harridan" from W40k, a bat like monster CR 90 size, wrote some rules ( not known to the players ) and warned them to build 150 pts each to fight the Horror from Beyond !!!

They knew the kind of monster it should be, and each one built their fleet

Rebel one was centered on 360 degree firing larges, Yt-1300 Han plus two YT-2400 ( both Outriders, HLC and Mango )

Imperial choose Punishers and Bombers, well loaded with Impact Missiles and Proton Torps.

Scum flew 10 Z 95 plus a small number of Homing ordinance ( why homing??? I dont know )

The idea was quite simple..." A Space Monster is defiling the Sector. You must forgot your diferences and fight united. Remember Master of Orion 2???"

The Beast was inmune to Ion damage, resistant to Laser and vulnerable to ordenance. The Humans fought the Beast and when it was evident that only one or two hits were needed to finish it... The Rebel Player fired on a damaged Punisher, blasting it !!! Rebel vs Imperial from this point on, only Scum was loyal to his objective, saving Humankind, and finished the Beast. Only one z 95 and a crippled outrider survived, on fire, and it waa a hell of fun.

Try different ideas.! Do not worry about Mathwing.or who win or your personal win/loose ratio. This is a game.

The beast will return...stronger. Ready your Raiders, Humans !!!

I'm planning on getting a D&D Dragon and creating some rules to use it in X-Wing. Probably won't have ranged attacks, I'm thinking it has to bite, or use it's tail or claws while flying by. Might even introduce a rule for the dragon to grab and hold on while attacking a large or huge ship.

Very cool idea. That's one of the fun things about Star Wars... The galaxy is so big just about anything is fitting.

Great idea! Im a bit saddened by the fact that so many players are tunnel-visioned to competetive-100pts-only schema in xwing...it is so open with some crazy, epic gameplay ideas.

I'm planning to use DagobahDave's racing plans again soon, now with added Raider goodness.

Big playing field, lay out a few satellites, players must fly past all satellites (or through sat. gates) in order.

Add mines, add huge ships as obstacles firing on all non-allied factions when at range 3 or closer. Add asteroids.

Movement and attack as usual, x number of points to use.
