What's cheaper, a hwk or a y wing? How many tlts can I shove into a list?
Without the "TLT" in caps, I totally misread this.... I'll let the imaginations wander...

For those of you flying Y-Wings, are you doing it with the title card? Or with out the title card?
Unless you also pack R3-A2 without the title. The extra attack doesn't seem as valuable here since you lose a lot more covered area than with range 1-2 turrets.
Still potentialy hilarious.

Not wandering, staring in a very specific direction. Usually with a response of "hey, my eyes are up here."
To which I usually reply, "I know, I was staring at your tLts."
Edited by random.brownAs someone who has always considered the HWK while list building, I can honestly say I'm very excited for the arrival of the TLT. It's not because it's a damage dealer, it's not because I can get 4 on Rebel Ops - it's because it synergizes with the (rebel) HWK abilities so much better than the Blaster or the Ion (or the poor auto blaster).
And what I mean by that is that it reaches R3. Jan, Kyle, and Roark all want to ideally be at R3 from their own friends, staying out of the fight completely. However, their abilities typically do not make up for the 25-30 points you lose if you don't put them in the fight at all. But they're fragile ships, easily killed. So before you had to keep them at R2 to trigger either turret and be useful, but this allowed the enemy to quickly pounce into R1 and slaughter the HWK. Now you can hang back at R3, buff your allies, and still get a meaningful attack (er 2 attacks!) in.
This makes it that much easier to be useful. Prior to W7, I was toying around with Jan equipped with ICT, Chewy, EU, and VI supported by Psycho Tycho and VI Jake. I went 6-0 with it prior to switching back to my usual Psycho Tycho + Corran list for Nationals. If I wasn't on a scum binge right now, I'd be playing around with similar builds but swapping out the ICT for the TLT.
What would you say to:

I've been running one guy that way for funsees and my opponent hates him, but usually that Y-Wing has a lot of faster support around them. But ya... Just curious! Might have to rethink this.
A hawk with a TLT costs 22 points. At this price you can take almost any crew on him before hitting the golden 25.
I am under the impression that TLTs benifits greatly from a ship having two focus tokens, and given the HWK has two Evade dice the spare focus would rarely be wasted. Recon specialist would be great.
Tactition? Sure you won't eften get a target in range two in your front arc, but on the first pass you probably will, a ship who gets 8 stress all at once will not be in a happy place for the rest of the game.
Lando? He's mostly worse than Recon specialist but why not, could be fun.
Weapons engineer, yup, almost as good as recon specialist with the added bonus of sometimes sticking around for even more chance to hit next turn.
3PO? Seriously under appreciated outside of fat han. When you NEED 3 evades to survive an attack he gives you a chance, and the rest of the time he can garrentee at least one evade or you can bet on at least one and have a good chance of negating a two hit attack.
R2? Why not, if you grab a cheaper crew elsewhere you can put him on to increas a ships toughness.
Sure many of these are unique, but with so many awesome options why would you run a uniform list?
Is the crew worth the loss of manuverability and toughness... it definatly can be. Plus having two evade dice will make you much better against swarms and other peoples TLTs.
I would give each of the Hawks Sabatour, just in case someone slips into range 1.

You're kidding, right?
If you really must, fly Scum HWKs instead - with Deadmans Switch or Feedback Arrays. Both will make Soontir nervous.
How about this? Too little offense?
Funny thing, after comming of lightning reflexes you can finnaly do K-turn in HWK ![]()
I don't think they were ever really gone. I just think people think of them the wrong way. They're just not damage dealers, and aren't really supposed to be.
Not that TLT is bad for them. No, it's great. Better than Blaster Turret by far. It's just that, it seems people simply do not value ships that have less than decent red die.
Well no offense but i saw the last HWK before TLT in a competitive environment when Phantoms were still the meta before nerf. It was Roark in order to boost Dash to PS 12 i believe.
Support is all well and nice, but every ship has to pull at least some of its weight in a fight or it's not worth the points. I mean if you can just plain ignore the support piece in such a list because it does no damage for itself then you can justgo for te main threat with allylu have and get an easy win. Soin Roarks case you overpower Dash and youre done.
I do believe TLT changes that quite a bit so you can run Kyle and the like as a support since they also represent a certain danger now.
