31 points of Imperial.

By Nyxen, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I've got this as the core of the list:

Juno Eclipse

-Veteran Instincts

-Proton Rockets

-title/ accuracy corrector

Deathrain

-Extra Munitions

-Connor Net

-Proton Bomb

Leaving me with 31 points. So far I'm thinking a buzzsaw Vader shuttle, but I don't like my odds if they're not willing to joust me. Thoughts?

Drop the Prockets and get Soontir in there.

A decked out sigma? Carnor without stealth? FCS on deathrain, alongside a doomshuttlewith FCS and cluster, for double vader doom? Backstabber and an obsidian with crackshot? Jendon with FCS and the title?

I really like the idea of Carnor Jax + Push the Limit + Autothrusters here. I think his maneuverability complements the squad well.

Asperon's suggestion of Soontir is alright, but without Proton Rockets there is really no reason to fear Juno - she'd need Advanced Targeting Computer instead of Accuracy Corrector. I suppose you could give up her VI to get ATC, but I have a feeling there is a good reason you want PS 10. Personally, I think she's fine at 8.

Deathrain likes this loadout:

AS, EI, extra munitions, (pick your flavor of bomb/charges)

this way you can AS to boost into range of a high priority target, EI to drop your ordinance, barrell roll out of the way, then execute a green manuver to clear stress

OGP AS FO for 27

Absolutely lovely build. 39 points feels like a lot for such a flimsy and obvious target though! Always find myself plumping for the generic, and then regretting it :D

She's my counter to Jake/Soontir. Her ability lets me get in close for a well timed procket to their face.

Personally, having tried deathrain 5 or 6 times now, I don't feel he's worth it. He feels over-costed by a few points, imho. Anyway, I am convinced that advanced sensors is absolutely the system of choice for him. It opens up quite a few options (even using a bomb just for the free barrel roll to get you out of a tight spot with an unexpected move). I can see the appeal of experimental interface, but that is getting too pricey for my tastes.

Since his big weakness seems to be swarms and high damage enemies that can take him out fast, I think you need a ship that counters those specifically. I feel a named phantom best fits the bill as support, possibly Vader as well or perhaps even Carnor Jax (basically you want a ship in your list that is going to draw as much or more aggro than deathrain). Redline might possibly work well with him too...

I had Maarek Stele in the slot but he just seemed to eat it before doing anything useful.
