feed back array

what's the point of this up grade seems strange to me to just strip a hull point

Well for a start it doesn't have an arc restriction so you can use on someone that's behind you. And if they've only got a hull point left but they're about to shoot you from behind, it's a nasty surprise for them. It's not an attack, so you just take an ion token and one damage to give them a point of damage. There's no dice roll for it, so no defence for it, and it always succeeds.

Any chance to inflict damage is a good thing.

Now you're just trying too hard.

You can also use it when you are bumped or on an astroid

How's this you can use z-95s to block a ship and using FBA still inflict damage double the insult.

Don't know if this is a serious question?

Feedback array is one of the best unique abilities in the scum list. It has three distinct roles, imo.

1) on a large ship that is less effected by the ion token, and whose high health makes the hit less important than the hit it deals out.

2) on a z-95, where it becomes a massive migraine to ships that pay a high cost per health - interceptors, phantoms, etc. It also turns the Z into a monstrous chaos-maker, as you spread your swarm out to block your target in a 'net' in which, once blocked, receives 3-4 unavoidable damage. Stuck on an asteroid? out of arc? in base contact with your target? Don't worry about it! the Z is still just as effective. All for 2 measly points.

3) on a ship with a dubious dial that needs to protect its flanks from nefarious arc-dodgers: think yv-666 or tlt carriers.

Feedback array rates as perhaps my favourite upgrade card in the game - it's hilarious, it can totally change the dynamic of how you fly, and in comparison to, say, the doomshuttle, opponents often totally ignore them in favour of your other list elements. Often to their downfall.

Here's my favourite build with it:

Kath Scarlet (44) Firespray-31 (38), Push the Limit (3), K4 Security Droid (3)

Binayre Pirate (14) x 4 Z-95 Headhunter (12), Feedback Array (2)

First you whine about how ships never take damage when you shoot at them and then you don't see the value of guaranteed damage? Feedback Arrays, along with Conner Nets, Seismic Charges and Proton Bombs, can be huge in this game, although it is hard to make the bombs work. Feedback Array and Conner Net though? Magical.

Don't be too proud of these technological terrors Disney has constructed. The satisfaction of bug zapping is insignificant next to the power of getting to say "I reach out with the force and choke Corran to death."

It is a cool and handy upgrade to have, i dont use it because i dont like doing damage to my own ships, but if it didnt have that double edge it would be really OP. I also love inertial dampeners and glitterstim so its hard to find room for it.

I suppose it would be a good finisher if the enemy had 1 point left but was about to hammer you.

So how do you fare with this build?

I would be interested to know how it does against Brobots, Dash-Keyan, BBBBZ, and other lists where you have a fairly high number of hull and shields to get through.

Even though the Zs are low point ships, it seems like you could knock out 1-2 per round and survive.

The idea of being Ioned also makes me wonder if the opponent could K or S turn to get shots with no return fire or effects.

I guess Kath is the primary factor, but just wondering what you have flown this against.

Am just trying to understand some of the cards people use most offten

Never flown it against Dash.

The list depends very much upon getting in your desired block. Dash would be a bad match I suspect, as tactically, I've found it works best if you can draw your opponent into engaging in or near the asteroid field, as you can utterly close down their movement options, then zap then to dust, while Kath circles and throws lots of modified die. Dash would not care a hoot about all that :(

Brobots were handily smashed - one was isolated and stripped, limping off to hide, the other eventually was jousted to death. Could be an anomoly tho, or user error.

I've played a few games with it where I hardly used the zapper at all - but the area denial and threat was a big element in both games, and I won handily through the joust. I think I've won 6 and lost 0 with it so far, but as you say, It's yet to face dash, which might be pretty mean.

"it seems like you could knock out 1-2 per round and survive." - Perhaps you could, but every time my opponent has focused exclusively on Kath, who's turtled up and taken the damage, while the Zs joust then clink then zap, causing disarray.

Hmm... disarray ... I think I'll name the list Feedback Disarray :D ... anyway, give it a go sometime, it's a whole lot of fun.

As an Imperial Player, this is the only illicit tech I would steal from the Scum. I am so glad it's popularity is way below it's potential.

It eats brobots alive two turns with a mini swarm will see 50% of the other guys list gone with nothing he can do about it, then you'll still have most of the swarm left and your own big gun.

Feedback Z95s are awesome. My first games with it I had 4 of them with Guri, they won every match against Brobots, Whisper and RAC, and Soontir & a bunch of OMGs.

If 8 feedback Zs wasn't one of the most expensive squads in the game it would probably be one of my mainstay lists.

And yes, I'm aware the OP is a troll, but love the bugzappers enough that I had to comment anyway.

You only get 7 Zappers max. Still something I would love to own, but yeah, the price is crazy.
