Are there any books for the background story for BattleLore? World description, maps, fiction - anything?

Runewars is the closest to battlelore story wise, it contains the same 3 factions (+ elves) but it's scaled up to armies fighting a campaign instead of individual battles. The fluff that comes from runewars applies to battlelore.

Runebound is the story driven game that started it all, lots of fluff in the 2nd edition but the 3rd edition is being released soon.

Waiting for 3rd is probably your best bet.

If you don't want to buy other games you could try a web search.

There's some Runefluff upped on BGG, but I don't remember where exactly. If you wish, PM me your email, and I'll send you over everything

It really is unfortunate that there isn't more about the Runebound universe. Some books would be really nice. I think FFG doesn't do that because they'd rather keep the world open so they aren't restricted in game design space.
