"Ches ko ba tuta creesta crenko ya kolska!"
So, after a little break from X-Wing I have a small local tournament coming up in a October and I'm looking to build a list and actually get some practice in before hand. I'd been looking for a list for a while before my 'break' (feeling very refreshed and re-invigorated thank you!) and despite claiming I was not going to get into S&V I found myself with a small(ish) fleet... No Brobots, but more than enough to be getting on with. Having been out for a couple of months I decided to 'net-deck' a list to get me back in the swing and stumbled across Mr. Froggies 'Greedo's Grinders' list after hearing it mentioned on the Scum & Villainy podcast (nice work guys!).
Greedo's Grinders
- Torkil Mux with Autoblaster Turret
- Syndicate Thug with Autoblaster Turret
- Syndicate Thug with Autoblaster Turret
- Syndicate Thug with Autoblaster Turret
- Spice Runner with Autoblaster Turret and Greedo
I love Greedo, have since I first saw A New Hope back in the day. And I love his ability and it's implied reference to George's 'meddling' with that scene! Not owning enough Y-Wings I shelved the idea and looked more closely at the following 'Mux's Mooks' list...
Mux's Mooks
- Torkil Mux and Ion Cannon Turret
- Black Sun Soldier
- Black Sun Soldier
- Syndicate Thug with Ion Cannon Turret, BTL-A4 title and R4 Agromech
- Syndicate Thug with Ion Cannon Turret, BTL-A4 title and R4 Agromech
Is this your list MajorJuggler? Now this I can do with the models I own. I've tried it once or twice at home and it seemed to me to be missing something. That something? Greedo! So, taking a look at the two lists and what I liked from each I've thrown my own together.
Greedo Does Shoots Last!
- Torkil Mux with Ion Cannon Turret, Inertial Dampeners and (of course) Greedo
- Black Sun Soldier
- Black Sun Soldier
- Hired Gun with Autoblaster Turret and R4 Agromech
- Hired Gun with Autoblaster Turret and R4 Agromech
Hired Guns? Hired Guns?!?! Well from limited playtesting (against myself) I noticed that often ships would be fully sheilded when Mux was firing as his PS is higher than a Syndicate Thugs. I know that the Black Sun Soldiers are also PS3 but I've found that their damage output isn't always that reliable. By bumping up the Y-Wings to PS4 and having them also shoot before Mux, as well as having the Z's on hand to pink off that final pesky shield, means that Greedo is a little more likely to deliver that all important critical hit. Not sure if it will work, but I'm hoping to try it out against real-life opponents in the coming weeks. I'll let you all know how it goes on here too! As usual, more than open to some constructive criticism and other peoples ideas and suggestions. Hopefully there are some more Greedo-ers out there!
