Oh, hmm.
The ARC is pretty expensive given it's sitting on crew+mech already.

Well, take a look at the Y-Wing's guns in The Clone Wars.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/BTL-B_Y-wing_starfighter
Take a look at those honkers, man. Compared to the standard Y-Wing, those are HUGE. It's not far fetched to see those as a Cannon slot..! (Couldn't get an image extension to work from wiki)
But yeah, seriously. Those are huuuuuuge.
Most of the actual shooty bits are inside the ship. The rest can be attributed to the general look of being up-armored they were going for.
In other words it might very well be a case of "it's my style".
two words: art style
But really, they're the same thing as (or slightly worse than) the KX-5s on the modern Y/Z versions.
Well, alright then.
Either way, there must be some way to differentiate the two. It just seems... Weird, to be able to run other vessels from The Clone Wars, but not their Y-Wing.

This should help those who are too tired to click on links.
Btw, the Clone Wars version isn't armored-up, it's the GalCivil War version that is stripped down. If this was what the Rebs had, I'd actually be envious.
(Look at Lackwit's profile pic for comparison.)
Edited by OneKelvinGood lord that thing's got some teeth.
But yeah, you can actually see the bits and pieces The Rebellion cut off. It's really cool actually, how much of the only Y-Wing design is intact.
But I think the big guns is a pretty solid case for Cannons. Those guns make a B-Wing's knees wobble.
...You know, if it had knees, in which case I'd be extremely concerned.
Maybe, but can we all agree that the primary issue with the prequels was a rampant lack of quality control?
And the script
The direction
The actors
The cgi
Fraking jar jar
Endless costume changes of the queen
Qui gon was a terrible Jedi, a cheat, a liar and a poor judge of character
Jar jar
Gungans in general

Racist bad guys

That poor end space battle

Not enough Darth maul

Darth maul died like a fool

I think that might cover it.
Definitely: as far as Y-wings go, the Rebellion version is a used-ship-lot "Honest John" special.
Not sure what the balance implications are, but I have to wonder what was in the chopped sections.
It looks like ventilation, and since the Reb version is open to space my Sherlock-Sense says that it probably drew heat away from the systems more efficiently than hard vacuum. (Just not enough to be deemed necessary for operation.)
Maybe the old version would have more green maneuvers, but be more expensive points-wise than the junker?
None of those things would have happened if there had been quality control in the first place.
The cover was just additional armour that got in the way while trying to perform maintenance so they stripped it to make their lives easier.
It's purely cosmetic, except it makes the y-wing uglier.

Huhm. More agile, astro, cannon, and extra armor?
Definitely puts it in that "E-Wing" slot.

Fair enough.
Kinda liked the "Great Game" political feel.
Liam Neeson.
Extra CGI breaks suspension of disbelief harder than any Muppet ever could. +1
Meh. Not all aliens are going to be hard-core. Just look at Tribbles.
Yeah, it did feel like space-Macy's.
Flawed Jedi are good Jedi.
Again with Jar, Jar?
Bubble cities were cool, "Meesa, monga QUEESA!" was not.
Alright, alright, he was more annoying than he was supposed to be.
*Ahem*. Bad Guys.
Fine, dangit.
"Now this, is podracing!" -1, *Drums above Coruscant* +1, Seismic Charges +Meter maxed out.
*Eye Twitching*
Yes. Yes.
No. No.
They brought him back in the animations though. ![]()
OH MY GOOOOOOOO-
Edited by OneKelvinGeorge Lucas inability to accept people didn't like his movies is pretty well known, instead he doubled down and pushed the prequels even when there was no demand.
And his staff too spineless to object just went with it and you can see the decline in quality, who could get enthused about making a prequel game instead of an OT one.
Look at red tails he insisted it was racism that made the studio reject it, in fact they knew it'd be a bomb and lo and behold they were right.
He had good ideas but hope was saved by his wife's changes and a **** good editor.
Just look what he made Spielberg do to ET, cgi'd guns into radios.
Knowing he can't hurt us anymore gives me hope for the future.

J.J. Abrams won't save you forever. Be careful what you wish for... (Muahaha haha haha!)
Oh, you know good and well that won't happen.
Unless we're talking Phineas and Ferb, it did sorta' happen.
It's the same fears people had when Disney bought Marvel. And so far, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has yet to let me down.
I'm willing to give Disney the benefit of the doubt until they give me reason not to.

A Star Wars cartoon musical would be hilarious.
Let's get down to business, to defeat the scum!

While I agree with all the other points, I can not agree with hating on the actors. They did the best job they could delivering their sh*tty worthless lines against a green screen in a lifeless sterile environment devoid of any sort of emotional connection to their set and settings. Everyone was a cardboard cut out because the script was written so poorly. How the hell can ANY actor deliver the line 'No, it's because I'm so in love with you' with any sort of enthusiasm or conviction? What? And to have Natalie Portman follow up with "So love has blinded you?"? What the **** is this? It's like I want to go back and time to when George was writing the dialogue and smash the script and desk he is at with a bat, point at him and say "No. Try again".

While that's possible, it's not something anyone can really prove.
At the end of the day, the writing was terrible, and the performances were terrible. Are the performances terrible solely because of the writing? Maybe. But who can be sure.
Why'd they send me eyeballs when I asked for squints?
You're the saddest bunch I ever met, but you can bet before we're through,

I'd say that at the very least Ian Mcdiarmid saved every single one of his lines from being terrible. Ewan McGregor managed most of his as well (heck, he was subtle enough to get a couple of really skeptic "am I really saying this crit" lines though).
