First choice.

By Spider, in X-Wing

Im interested on my fellow x wingers opinions on the following...

Your are picking a list, assume its a 100pt regualr game. You open up your favourite squad builider of choice.

And you pick a ship. This is the ship you simply gravitate to. It not necesarily the ship you always fly. With further picks that first choice might not be that workable. Or maybe you realise you always fly it, so perhaps a new choice is needed.

I am not talking about what you think is you best build/ship or what you think you will need to win a game. It is not necesarily the best and most exciting choice.

But it might be...

By way of example the i will my go to choices...

rebels: don't play them

Imperial: Storm squadron advanced, with accuracy correctors. Simple, efficient. Solid. Won't set the world on fire, but will be dependable.

One or two of these has become my first choice for the heroic Imperials these days.

Scum: Boba Fett. usually with engine, inertial dampeners, k4 security droid and maybe a cannon. Probably with ptl. Just a great and fun guy to fly. Get him into range 1 of your enemy and just watch him not die. And kill stuff. He is possibly my favourite ship in X Wing currently.

Who are the first picks from your stable of go-to pilots?

It varies. At the moment:

Scum: Boba & Kath, Banana pirates.

Imps: Soontir.

Rebels: Blues, Bandits, Golds, and now Poe.

Gonna be new **** for a while

Always a warden or Miranda, simply because they're an unparralled experience in the entirety of xwing :)

Then poe because t-70 is shiney, starting with the also shiney bb-8

For imps, still on redline and now fos. Gonna have to proxy omega leader because GODDAMN that's a sexy ability

Rebels: Tycho

Imperials: Tycho

Scum: Tycho

Hard to say, it really depends on my mood and what I feel like flying at the moment.

Rebels: Generic A-Wing (good filler, can't go wrong with it at that price), X-Wing (soon to be including the T-70)

Imperial: Elite Tie Interceptor (Because you can never have enough of these guys with their arc dodging), Tie Defender

Scum: Starviper (Guri or Generics, I'm in love with how that ship fly) and just recently the Kihraxz (good stats for the price, very good dial and without any way to reposition, I feel like going back to the roots of the game)

I love flying ship that don't forgive... :P

Tie Defender, HWK-290 (both rebels and scum) and Firespray (both scum and imperials).

Scum: Kath

Empire: Sigma Squadron

Rebel: Wild Space Fringer (HLC, no title)

Scum: don't play

Empire: Black Squadron Pilot with Expose and Targeting Computer. In a 100 points list that's 5 Ties.

Rebels: not too sure yet. Just got the Starter X-Wing and Millennium Falcon. Probably be the Falcon as first choice. Yes, because I like the turret to shoot all round. Probably be Chewbacca, with Marksmanship for starting off.

Colonel Vessery

Carnor Jax

Whisper

It was Corran Horn for a year. Still trying to quit!

Rebels: Tycho

Imperials: Tycho

Scum: Tycho

A balanced approach.

I like it.

Rebels: Wedge: Outmanouver, R2-D2/ Now maybe Miranda too when I have tested the K-Wing.

Empire: Soontir: Autothrusters, Stealth, PTL

Rebels: Z-95s

Scum: Z-95s

Imperials. Didn't play them until just recently, but I guess the new Tie Advanced? (Love Auto-crit!)

Decimator.

However, I have been playing around with the new Advances lately, and they're fun. Good thing I flew Soontir with my VT so long, the transition from Decimator to a bunch of little ships is a bit jarring!

However, I still feel that for 'serious' play, it's still going to be Decimator and a small escort. Fel. Maybe Vader occasionally. Or Deathrain. Yeah....

For scrum, it's typically Kavil, seasoned to taste.

For imperial s, it varies; I usually pick one ship as a centerpiece, then build out from there.

Going to be playing my t-70 x wings for rebels, then experiment more from there; I don't have a lot of experience playing them so I'm more experimental.

TIE Defender.

Whatever's new or long forgotten. Start with a whim, build out from there. IDIC!

Right now I'm puzzling over TLT Warthog Horton. Can it work? Should it?

Next thing I might think about is dusting off my hated TIE Phantoms. For some reason I got a second one way back in the day. I don't think I've had them both out of their blisters at the same time since.

Rebels: Tycho

Imperials: Tycho

Scum: Tycho

I knew it! General Salm was right! Tycho is a traitor!

Twice favouring and then.., Interceptors.

Didn't see that one comming! :-)

Any advice on flying them?

Rebels: Don't usually fly 'em
