Wave two Pre-release

By Despoiler22, in Star Wars: Armada

Hey does anyone know if the stores has to buy the kit or is it just sent to the once approved by Fantacy flight. My local store got approved yesterday and they are unsure if they need to buy something now.

Approved for what, the tournament, or actual sales? If it's the Sullest Tournament, it's my understanding that they should just get the kit delivered to them. I don't work of FFG nor am I a TO, but that is what I got from reading the press release.

I am fairly certain that they have to buy the kit just like anyoher tournament or expansion, I mean imagine giveing away a $200 kit...a hundred times...that's poor business right there

As someone who works for a store that is running the Sullust event, I can confirm that the stores have to buy the kit.

You're right that the press release makes it sound like we get it for free; that has led to some frustration and confusion on players parts already.

I don't think it it is at all realistic to believe that FFG would be sending out these kits for free, especially since they do not even do so for Regional or SC kits.

I'd gladly pay for a chance to win a ship. That doesn't bother me one bit.

But I hope they do release a list. It'd be nice to have the pickings from to decide where I'm going that weekend.

Thank you Very much GAthraawn the store owners were very confused on if they needed to buy it or not but I will Relay the message to them later today. Again thank you to everyone who replied :)

I'll put my question here since we're talking about it. Do we have a list of participating stores? I know no one local to me, but if Greensboro NC or I might even go all the way to Washington DC, it would be good to know.

The kit must be purchased either from FFG or their distributor if outside of the USA. Kits are not cheap.

They are not cheap and they have to be used in that weekend

I think ffg just sent a email to everyone

Yeah they ran $160 for the kit (US) not sure about any overseas action. I spoke with one local dealer to see about the possibility, but locally its all Star Trek or bust. I've got a 2 hour drive each way for the one I have registered for but will be a much better venue!

160 for 4 ships and a 20 dollar fighter back isn't toooooo bad. And the promo cards, but those are essentially free.

So, that's about 50 bucks for the two big ships and 20 for the two small ones.

I would like the chance to win a 50 dollar ship for only a 10-15 dollar entrance fee.

Oh, and the afternoon of meeting people and playing armada would be nice to...

Wish i could attend :/

I thought someone reported the kits costing 90 USD. 160 is the combined MSRP of all the ships in the kit.
