I've been building my collection for a while and decided I actually wanna give this game a go. I got enough money left over this check to grab either Imperial Aces or the Firespray. I'm curious on which one would be more beneficial for competitive and casual play.

My current imp collection consists of:

2 Core Tie Fighters

2 Tie Interceptors

2 Tie Phantom

1 Tie Defender

1 Decimator

I was thinking the Aces for the cards and the Jax.

Dang, that's a tough one, 'cause they're both, like, must-haves! But when I think about it, the builds for the pilots you get in Imperial Aces all require Autothrusters so maybe Firespray is the way to go. Gets you a Gunner, some Stealth Devices (which you'll also want for your Interceptors), and Veteran Instincts. With all of that you can put together a pretty salty Decimator and Defender list.

Aces all the way. So many valuable cards in that box.

so I do have quite a few cards already, including PTL. Does that change the decision between Imp Aces or Firespray?

Buy ships, not cards. If you can afford it, buy one pack.and in a few weeks the other. 60 bucks well invested

I'd say that you should get the Firespray if you play scum at all, as it can be used in both factions. Otherwise go for Imperial Aces - interceptors are a lot of fun to fly. They've got a steep learning curve but you'll be a much better pilot at the end of the process!

Firespray comes with stealth devices, which are really nice. Its also a powerful ship to have. But, if you love Interceptors as much as I do, Imperial Aces are the way to go. Carnor Jax is pure awesomeness, Royal Guard TIE is really useful, Tetran Cowall has a pretty nifty ability too, and more. But if you aren't obsessed with TIE Interceptors, I would recommend the Firespray.

I love interceptors and even though I've only played casual a couple of times without pilot talents (trying to learn the game and go from collector to player) I always field a pair when I can. 2 interceptors and a defender has been real fun.

Ships are expensive up in Canada at my local stores however with the firespray being $45 and aces $35 on average. Even the K wing and defender was %28!!!

Ill probably grab both this week unless the new core set arrives at my local stores.

You'll want to get some scums at some time anyway due to fact that autothrusters are only in Xizors ride and Firespray is WAY better when fielded with scum pilots (the way it should be )

I'm not really interested in playing the Scumm faction at all... and see that as another money pit. That being said, I could use another Y-Wing and those cards. So maybe a Scum pack with a Z95 standard pack would be a worth while way to go.

I'm pretty happy with my collection of ships right now however. Don't real see anything I need to add in the immediate future, except a FA Core
