Prize support to me has always been funky, rewarding with the best players with powerful cards (they probably) already have while the "worst" or the ones who got unlucky with less. While this is fair that the better players get rewarded with something great, I always thought this was a bit excessive. I think while winners should get something awesome, but do they need another playset of certain cards while there are people that lost don't even have it? Maybe they should get something they don't even have...not really sure what this could be. This is just one of those things I've thought about since I started playing.

Prize support, in your local tournament, can be handled whatever way you wish. There's no real guidelines as to how you handle it.
At higher tournaments, it's a recompense for placing higher.
Promo distribution, on the other hand...
Yeah, I was talking more about higher up tourneys. Just seems like the people who do worse can never catch up in their collection unless some large amount of money falls into their lap. I'm not sure what would be a viable solution...
The higher players in tournaments are better supported because they usually spend more. That's why they have the cards to win in the first place.

It's been brought up once or twice mostly by Shaneth.
A viable solution would be to spread out certain prizes. Like, for example - non-top 8 members get a prize pack containing 4 promos (if possible foundations because most of the characters you will have), and then the top 8 gets extra loot.
I mention the distinction between top 8 and non-top 8 because it's really the only distinction we can make with Swiss. The rest of the rankings mean pretty much nothing.
I wouldn't mind if they stop sending us worthless 4 point stuff.

Personally, what I think would be a good idea for the Legacy support would be dropping the 4-point cards entirely and shipping the older promos out again (if they have them in stock). I think this would be a good way to promote Legacy as some of the newer players may never have even seen some of the older promos. There would be more interest, say, in getting a promo 'Ruru or even some of the older SF or SC3 promos then the current cards. Heck even getting some of the old box toppers or less seen cards (ie. Round 1, 2, 3 or etc.) would be cool. For my store I have been giving out some of the really old league stuff (STG days) as well (was found sitting on a counter under some stuff behind the front desk).
