Starting Morality questions.

By Brucewayne, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I've been reading through the Morality section as I work on making my first PC and I'm slightly confused about how the system works. In EotE you could increase your starting exp or credits by taking additional obligation, but based on my reading of the morality rules it seems like it works differently in FaD. If I"m reading it correctly you can either take one of the bonuses to your credits or exp and keep your morality at 50 or you can raise or decrease your morality by 21. Is that correct?

Yes, you give up starting as a paragon of vice or virtue for that +10 starting XP.

You don't get the Paragon bonuses until your 80+, though, correct? Forgive me, but I don't have the rulebook yet, so I can't verify.

I think there are a couple of minor ones that kick in at the 30 and 70 marks.

You pick 50 morality and credits or xp or credits and xp.
or +/- 21 morality.

At 71 Morality, you get to add an extra Light Side destiny point to the pool at the start of each session.

At 29 Morality, you automatically flip one Light Side destiny point when generating the pool at the start of each session. You also get to use those dark side pips to generate Force points.

So there are perks at that can be taken at character creation. It's just that you have to ascend/descend further on the Morality scale before you start getting modifications to your to strain threshold and wound threshold (later only if dark side).
