How is the game doing?

By Darthfish, in Star Wars: Armada

Before you break out the pitchforks and torches, let me say I really like this game, as well as Xwing. I want it to do well, and I am HEAVILY invested in wave 1 and will certainly buy in for wave 2 as well.

Having said all that, it has not taken off in my area. I know 3 players other than myself, and I find it hard to get a game in.

How is it doing where you live? (very well, I hope.)

I live in central WV, so not exactly the mecca of table top wargaming....

Wonderfully in my area.

We get new players every week, and are apparently getting at least three Sullust kits locally.

San Antonio, TX

one more reason I'm sorry I don't still live there.

San Diego, going pretty well. I know that there will be a Sullest kit in Vista and Pair a Dice gaming, and AT EASE games in Mira Mesa also applied for a Kit, no word if they got it, but looks like it will. They hosted the Regional X-Wing tournament.

Seems to be doing pretty good in the Twin Cities MN area. But we have a pretty healthy X-Wing community here and that helped get Armada going.

The Philly/South Jersey area seems happening. They have at least 2 Sullust tournaments within 45 min of each other from what I'm seeing. They also have advertised combined X Wing/Armada/IA nights for casual play.

I'm from the NE corner of PA and it's devoid of players. Not even a lot of X Wing from what I can tell. I'm pretty much guaranteed to have to drive 2+ hrs to find a tournament or casual play night. Although I'm really pushing the game at a new store up here. Maybe it will take off eventually.

starting slow in NY, but we're picking up speed with a few areas hosting the massing

not to sound overly optimistic, but if the sheer visage of the ISD doesn't draw a huge crowd then I'm not sure what will

our consumers can't repel nostalgia of the magnitude

Doing very well on my dining room table!

On a more serious note: quite well I think, given the small size of my town (located in Norway)

Looking at some of the facebook groups it looks like At Ease does have a kit inbound. They'll be doing their tourney on the 3rd and Pair a Dice will be on the 4th.

We just got a once a month gathering going in Blacksburg Va if you're close enough. Depends on your definition of central WV.

X-Wing is huge around here, but Armada has only a small (if devoted) following.

Pittsburgh area.

I am lucky enough to live within 20 minutes of the FF Game Center in the Twin Cities, and the crowd there is always decent. Strong players looking to have fun, but not hyper competitive. They do about 1 tournament a month, and have open play for Armada every Tuesday.

I have heard rumors the Game Center is putting on 3 Massing at Sullust events that weekend.

We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?

Couldn't resist :P

I will say though that in my area, south central, PA (and I mean as far south and central you can get lol) armada hasn't really taken off yet. Don't have any tournaments or anything close, most would be at least a 2hr drive. But hoping it does soon. But even if it doesn't get that big, I am fine with it, I still enjoy the game and I have a few friends I play with.

I LIKE IT, I LIKK IT ALOL!

Im honestly surprised no one said it earlier lol

I'm hanging out about an hour south of Portland, OR. I play just with friends and family, but rumor has it that HNN has a big headquarters somewhere up there, and I think they get in games pretty regularly...

Being a Rebel enthusiast I have not yet revealed the location of my hidden base, but maybe soon I will try to get a game with them.

Well remember the Game is still fresh and X-Wing was a slow starting game for its first few waves. (Portland has a big X-Wing community but when wave two was just coming out it was me and two other guys at Portlands biggest LGS)

I expect after wave 2 there will be more excitement coming.

And Jed, even though we have Armada players here in Portland Armada is still just getting going. This summer took the steam out of gaming (spent time with my son myself) but with Fall coming and the release of Wave 2 things will turn around.

Take a drive and play with us in Monroeville near Pittsburgh next Sunday.

Well the FB group i run down here on the Gulf Coast says we have 30+ members, but the last 2 tourneys I ran had 5 and 6 people show up. We've had as many as 12, but that was right after Wave 1 released. Im hoping after Wave 2 and when EP7 comes out interest will kick in big time.

So Portland has 5 stores doing Massing at Sullust, 1 Friday, 2 Saturday, 2 Sunday. We are doing that well

Miami Florida has a good following. We will be hosting massing at sullust @ sunshine adventure gaming!

Oklahoma is practically dead in the water (space?). Though, I know more than a few people who are talking about buying in once wave two hits in 20 or 30 years. Just hoping interest in the games survives till it arrives.

Northern NJ is dead as hell. Crazy, for an area with such huge wealth and population.
