A-wing PTL + ???

I'm curious what card would be better with PTL
Wired? Or Cool Hand?
Thoughts?
I also like Juke but I think Cool Hand and Wired fit A-wings and PTL slightly better.

DOH I just realized Cool Hand is one time only lol, Wired is definitely better

But this leads to an interesting discussion anyway of how versatile A-wings now are in playing
What are some combinations you all can think of now that there are so many cards

Wired fo sho.

Outmaneuver is excellent for Green Squadron Pilots. It addresses one of the A-Wing's fundamental weaknesses - the lack of hitting power. Reducing your opponent's damage reduction potential is almost as good as increasing yours - except you can do it without taking any actions.

Of course the downside is needing to actually Outmaneuver your enemy - but you it IS possible, and if you can fly an A-Wing with Outmaneuver well, you can fly anything well!

Juke is also cool.

Juke for the A-wing's biggest issue: ******* green dice

wired is neat if you're eating multiple attacks, especially TLTs while packing a thruster ("balls, rolled focus...saved me, Wired!"), or flying around stressed

it's not terribly impressive otherwise

cool hand is actually very interesting; might save your ass especially if you're going in guns blazing with focus + TL

Outmanvoure. you should be out of arc if you're playing A wings well/properly and lining yourslef up for a shot so that *guarantedd* green dice reduction is essentilly like adding a red die to your roll , given that red die seen to give better seults than green :)

This , ive had games with both PTL a wings and PTL interceptors where the only shot my opponent got at me is the opening exchange, sometimes not even that if they fall for a 'denied flank' strategy.

If im head to head slugging it out with 'high speed, low drag' units i've messed up and the game is over.

However no one plays turrets much in our local group, i might feel differently playing against 4 gold squadron with TLT

Wired. And juke, juke fits the A Wing quite well.

Depends entirely on the pilot.

For Jake: VI or Juke.

For Tycho: Wired or Lightning Reflexes.

For Greens: Outmaneuver or Predator until Juke hits.

After PTL, I love predator. Wired is a close second now.

PTL and Outmaneuver is my vote as well. The combination makes you use the A-wing to its full maneuvering potential.

I was coming here for a quick answer on what to equip my green with but I feel like I'm actually gonna have to use my brain to figure out what I want to achieve rather than having auto includes. There's always Crack Shot ... gives those two attack dice a little extra oomph, at least once.

That's the whole point and brilliance of this game. Except for a few specific cases (e.g. Soontir with PTL) there isn't a 'one size fits all/auto include' option. It is entirely down to you and your playing style.

Personally, with Greens I go for PTL + VI just to give them an edge in the PS battle. For Jake, I usually go PTL + Outmanoeuvre as his ability and PS is high enough to let him react to the battlefield, so I want Outmanoeuvre to maximise his hitting power.

Wired if generics, but if they are aces, it would depend on the aces. Jake + VI, and Tycho + Expert Handling work extremely well, the barrel roll gives them great maneuverability and arc dodging goodness, also the few times Expert Handling is rather efficient.

Juke or Wired. Sometimes, I'll warn you, Wired pulls a good Lone Wolf impression and triggers all the time with out much profit. But rerolls are always good, right? (Maybe not as much in the current game where there's plenty of guarantee, but in theory)

Juke is good too but it's better the higher your Pilot skill is as a quick note. If you can use that token for attack and defense every time it's great. But if you have to spend the token before you shoot it's a waste of points.

I'd love it if a new A-wings Pilot ability was that he could take an additional Elite Skill. PS7 PTL+Juke+Wired would be sahweeeeet. Then rebuild him to PS9 VI+Outmaneuver+Expert Handling+EI? Ahhhwesuuuuuum!

I love outmaneuver. The fact it can cancel 3PO and triggers often makes me really happy.

Wingman is awesome if you run your A Wings in pairs.
