[edit] And thanks to Mu0n, here's a graphical representation!

I needed an image to help myself, so I went ahead and did it.

2 of them are garbled because we don't have them fully spoiled yet.

You're doing Glod's work here, Danthrax.

first two have the same name

you probably mean Zeta Squadron Pilot for the ps3?

Thank you; fixed.

Gotta be a clue. :D

Asty_zpsdqphqpaj.jpg

aaaaand I misspelled Asty's name. Fixed that, too!

(Just gotta remember ... Asty is nasty ... hopefully that turns out to be true)

Yeah, Nasty Asty would be an awfully good squad name.

One interesting side note, somebody was pointing out that although the shape is different (rectangle, versus round), the black and yellow chequered pattern on Asty's helmet is the same as on Biggs'. Curious to know what that is a reference to, assuming it's not just unfortunate foreshadowing for poor Asty there. :D

Well, Asty does have that fleshy mustache.

I believe the Omega Squadron Pilot does have an EPT.

I think I need to have some kind of infographics to really commit all of this to memory.

The mixing of greek letter cases in that image only confuses things more...

The mixing of greek letter cases in that image only confuses things more...

I'm pretty sure they don't speak Greek in the Star Wars universe anyway

(those are just names, and the Aurebesh alphabet would have made more sense)

so using the Greek characters is inappropriate:

Aurek, Besh, Cresh ,Dorn, ... Xesh, Yirt, Zerek

Doesn't quite have the same ring to it but much more appropriate.

Zeta Squadron or Zerek Squadron, who would have complained.

Most SW shuttles seem to follow the "Greek letter" naming convention. Lambda was the first, but far from the last.

And we've already had a "Sigma Squadron" - paving the way for other "Greek letter" squadrons.

suprised we didnt get the pumpkin poe X-wing in the expansion pack...

There are tons of greek letters in use: alpha was the first one in wave 2, gamma in wave 3. I wish they had used Beta for normal TIE fighters like in the old PC game, but I guess it's too crowded for that ship already.

Still, gotta reserve mu and nu for the gunboat.

Beta might have confused some people,
suggesting to them that it was a proto-type.

lol.

...Don't mind me, I'll just go have a cup of Corellian Hot Chocolate.
