My sole disappointment about the T70 & TIE/fo expansions: no Wired?

By PhantomFO, in X-Wing

I just realized that Wired, at least based on the ships and card-fans presently announced, is going to be exclusive to the Force Awakens core set until at least wave 9.

I had expected it to be bundled with one of the individual expansion packs as a way make it available for things like A-Wing swarms, but it looks like Juke and Cool Hand took their place. You can proxy these things for casual play, but it'd be nice to have it as an option for bigger tournies.

I know FFG usually has a set number policy on these things, but I hope they can find a way before the expansions actually hit the printer to work an extra card into the TIE/fo pack or something.

enjoy buying six TFA Core Sets

Or, just be patient. Like with Advanced Sensors or Push the Limit.

Or play casual then you don't even need the card.

Well to be honest while I know it is making it harder to make Resistance and FO lists to be honest I don't think those upgrades would be used that much.

You know something the core set is worth a purchase for the cards if you end up buying with an extra sets sell the ships out of it. There in high demand on ebay and in trade forums, you will get your money back easy and end up with the upgardes you need.

Just make a good high resolution gloss copy and glue over crappy EPT.

Place inside upgrade card sleeve.

Profit.

This is illegal and bad advice.

For home use? Im not talking about selling these or taking them to official tournaments.

Plus it's at home, who cares if you use a card or a post it?

I hope we get some more upgrade cards in future packs. So far the episode 7 packs have been really stingy with the upgrades.

they're very much mirroring the wave 1 releases

the tie vanilla expac only had swarm and determination :(

no idea why (maybe huge amount of pilot cards?) but they are

Yea it's a shame that, as the OP pointed out, you won't be able to see many multiples of these in action at upcoming tournies.

The good news is that FFG is probably well aware that Wired is the only one-use upgrade card available in a Core set only.

Compared to Lightning Reflexes and Crack Shot, there's a good chance Wired will come with some of the Wave 9 singles. Hopefully it's the same for the other two, since I think they work best in multiples.

In Wave 1, I'm pretty sure they mostly did it because there wasn't all that many cards designed yet.

Episode 7 is clearly trying to very carefully match Wave 1 with their initial releases, so everything is 'fair' (or at least, equally miserable) whether you decide to start on oldschool or newschool.

To those of us used to seeing 5 cards as standard, though... it's not ideal.

I really do wish they'd throw a second Integrated Astromech into the T-70 and a spare Targeting Computer into the TIE/FO, so that way the darn things can help cover the shortfalls in the core set, y'know? These aren't exactly EPTs where you'd only see one or two on the table each game.

I didn't realize the T-70 didn't come with Wired. Now I'm rethinking whether to buy it at all. I was mostly picking it up so I'd have at least two copies of Wired for my Brobots. I am definitely not buying 2 core sets (I'm barely interested in getting 1 core set)

Not to nitpick, but Wired is not a fire and forget card like Lightning Reflexes and Crack Shot.

Whoops, assumed it was one-use only. Thanks!
