Let's say you haven't scored a FA core set yet; now that we know most of the upgrades, but more importantly, in which quantity (1 max each), what do you plan to do globally for wave 8 and why?

For those who have splurged on Sept 4th and the following day, what would you have done with the hindsight we now have?

For me, it looks like:

1x Ghost, the most no-brainer of them all, gives a nice complement of 1x Conner Net and 1x Cluster Mines to go with wave 7's stuff.

1x or 2x Punishing One, but heavily leaning more towards 1x, unless a very powerful combo of 2 of these ships can be found

1x to 3x Mist Hunters - The illlicit cloak feels like an unreliable gimmick, but it can help you just enough even if it triggers only once I think. I have to wait for how the tractor beam works before deciding

1x to 3x Advanced Prototype - it's hard to now before fully knowing the generics and the other named pilot, but I'm leaning towards 1

1x to 2x FA core set, leaning towards 1 but 2 is needed for 2x Wired

1x to 2x T-70, leaning towards 2 because of integrated astromech running very well in elite 3 T-65 X-Wings lists

2x to 3x TIE/fo but I'm not sure I want to run multiples of the expensive Comm Relays.

1 x Mist Hunter

1 x JM5K

I'm with you, Mu0n. Mostly just one of each, but I'm not sure how fast I'll be able to accrue enough money for so many ships. I may have to skip out on the Mist Hunter and Punishing One for now because I've got my eye on that beautiful TIE Carrier.

So not a huge change really, most likely I'll be getting 2-3 more ships then planed on before.

I already have 2x TFA core sets, so my Wave 8 purchase plans are going to be like this:

1x Ghost and Punishing one - If a 2x Punishing one list seems to form I may pick up a 2nd, but one of each sounds about right for casual/semi competitive play.

2x all others of wave 8 - Brings me to 4 TFA x-wings, 6 TIE/FO, and two each of the others is about right. I may pick up a 3rd interceptor... those things just look cool

Similar to you, Muon. 1 of most, 2 or 3 of the lower point ships, largely depending on previews.

Upgrade Cards depending (ones we dont know about) just 1-2 TAPS and 1-2 FO's

Wave 8 is the first wave where I'm likely not going to just buy 1 of everything. Unless the Mist Hunter and Punishing One look awesome, probably going to pass on them. The Ghost is a no-brainer along with the new FO Tie and T-70. Not even sure about the TAP. Probably get it as the Empire is my favorite faction, but no more than 1.

I really like Wired as a 2nd elite talent for multiple A-Wings. It really sucks it comes in 1 copy per core set.

2 core sets. got... 2 ghosts 2 punshing one. 4 mist hunters. 4 ADV prototypes 2 tie FO.. 4 T-70s.

4 x Tie Aggressor

One ghost and one tie advanced prototype as soon as humanly possible. The rest can wait a bit longer.

I only play with the empire, but it's especially hard to figure it out right now, since the Advanced Prototype and the Tie/Fo are dangerously close price wise.

Just one each Ghost and TAP, at the moment. May expand into the EpVII TIEs later, but I still don't like the X-Wing. I'll pick up any upgrades I want second hand.

We still don't know nearly enough about non ep 7 wave 8

Particularly need the tap and pogostick dial and those are the MOST solid ships given the current upgrades

(Taps has inquisitor + title + thrusters, pogostick is a disgusting torp boat with deadeye + r4 + recon + extra munis + torp of choice...probs plasma)
