Moving a scum pilot to a different ship

If you could take any scum pilot and put him in any scum ship? Which combinations would you suggest?

I am starting a campaign and am at a loss for ideas for my commander who can eventually learn to fly a different ship. Do i go with an excellent starting combo, or play the long game?

I am quite liking Dace for example as the extra point of damage on ion weapons would make stealing ships easier, but the hwk ship is not a good ship. I also love the hounds tooth, allowing my pilot to escape death in the pup, but then ship destruction is something that should be avoided. Then their is kath scarlet in the firespray or talonbane in any brawler for sheer damage output. Decisions decisions

Good thought on Dace. You could transfer him to a Firespray later and equip an Ion Cannon. With 3 dice, you only need 1 to go through and you get 2 damage. Plus it's got a decent amount of hit points. The problem is that the Firespray doesn't really have enough green on the dial to allow you to keep stressing yourself. If I went with Dace, I'd move into the Scyk. But then, I am a sucker for those little M3-A Interceptors.

What about Graz the Hunter? His starting ship is pretty respectable, even if he doesn't have an EPT. If you want, you can switch to a Firespray later. Now you're rolling 3 defense on a head-on attack or when you've decided to jet away and regroup. The Firespray will give Graz more upgrades to help his offense and defense even though he doesn't have the EPT. A Recon Specialist, for example, would be great with the agility boost.

Talonbane's ability is fantastic, no matter what ship you put him in (3-dice HWK at range 1, woo-hoo!). I think that will be one of the best pilots to begin with and the ability transfers to other ships really well.

Have you thought about N'dru? It depends on how many friendly ships you'll have around, but that one could be nice.

I also like the idea of Boba Fett getting in a Kihraxz where he can use 1-turns to stay in the fight and keep his range-1 bonus.

A few good suggestions, there is a lot of flavour in the faction and they all play quite differently.

Palob Godalhi, no question, in any ship is simply amazing.

Put him in a star viper, add opportunistic and sensor jammer which both synergise very well with his ability, and win.

Palob with oppurtunistic in a firespray might be an option, some 5 dice HLC just for fun.

I just remembered the Aggressor. I think that's your ticket for Dace. Equip an Ion Cannon and then clear stress from your ability with all that green on the dial.

Palob starts nasty and just gets nastier if you put him in **** near anything.

Talonbane is nice if you don't expect to have dozens of TLTs coming your way.

For my money, Boba Fett is both flavorful and nasty in a wide range of ships; and then Dengar... that pilot ability is even more terrifying if he's not in a turret.
