Force Awakens timeline

If you take Aftermath seriously, then the central planet of the story (M-something) is the first planet in the Outer Rim to join the New Republic.

This means that:

EITHER

1) Mon Calamari is no longer located in the Outer Rim

OR

2) Mon Calamari is not a member of the New Republic

The empire or quarren may control the planet at that time.

Or they meant "first to join after the New Republic was declared," and Mon Cala is a founding member.

Or it simply shows that they are going to be just as haphazard as before and will need to rely upon the old Marvel No-Prize to fix continuity errors.

3) What Rortharr said above.

It said, "1st", why read this as "only?" and not "1st?"

4) Key members of Mon Cala were busy dealing with the Endor aftermath and didn't get around to making an official proclamation until a couple days later. Just because one planet was delcared "1st" doesn't mean some other planet could never be 2nd, 3rd, 50th, etc.

I can't award No-Prizes, but keep the guessing coming!
