Wired Brobots

By Ziusdra, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I know there's a lot of Brobot hate, but there wouldn't be hate if there weren't a lot of other Brobot players. Fellow Brobots, help a bro out:

IG-88B & C identically loaded:

Wired (1)

Mangler Cannon (4)

Autothruzters (2)

Sensor Jammer (4)

IG-2000 (0)

Inertial Dampners (1)

Ion Bomb (2)

Alternatively, I could cut Inertial Dampners and Ion Bombs to bump Manglers to HLC and help my lacking offense. I like Inertial Dampners because it works with Wired.

Could also change IG-88C to IG-88D to work better with Wired.

As you stated, I see a severe lack in damage with this list. Defense is great, but the IG's are already naturally great with 3 native agility and AT's. But with what you have, I would personally drop ID and Ion bombs for HLC.

Normally I would stay clear from anyone but B/C for its pure action economy, in this case I could see D working, but with all the wired slooping, you will be predictable.

Cheers

D is less predictible if you take advanced sensors, but then less protection vs. TLT. You could have SJ on B and AS on D though. I've never really taken to C that much since his ability doesn't actually come into play all that often, although its nice when it does. YMMV of course.

I would definitely drop the bombs to get at least 1 HLC (on D or C depending on which you go with). If you put HLC on B, you'd really be better off going with FCS or predator.

Blade makes a good point and it's something I've I agree with. You don't need both IGs to be carbon copies. You should be building based what Brobots do best and that is synergy with each other.

Thanks guys. I think I'll upgrade C to an HLC, and downgrade B to an Ion Cannon and drop his Bomb. That way there is still synergy between the two, no clear target to attack, and ion tokens for control.

You have lack of offense and want to replace the mangler with an ion cannon?
