Does anyone think there is a possibility of more demand than FFG was expecting, leading to a shortage of available core sets?

I know lots of people in my area that have never played a FFG game before and are excited for Thrones. I would really hate to get them all hyped up for launch and the local game store not be able to get enough.

There have been rumors that the shipment was delayed slightly to extend the print run. I'm sure it will pretty much immediately go into another print run, but probably it will be obtainable through multiple channels without much trouble upon release.

The distributers are not telling retailers to expect shortages My FLGS has been told their full order should be honored.

Keep in mind, that just because FFG printed enough, it doesn't mean your local retailer won't underestimate the amount of products that they will sell. It is possible for retailers to end up with a shortage on their end...

If the retailers order an appropriate amount of core sets, I don't expect there to be any issues.

I'm not expecting there to be an issue immediately at launch, more concerned about a month down the line, as we get close to the holiday season. The only FFG game i have played at launch was Netrunner and I do remember there being a period where it was a kinda hard to get your hands on a core set.

Many FFG games have a tendency to go out of stock around the holidays almost always including the newest product. This is something that many retailers have asked to be addressed sooner. Sales are lost every year at FLGS because product, either a new core set, a 'hot' expansion, or just new sleeves have gone out of stock.

Yeah, it's highly likely that at some point it will get slightly harder to obtain. Hopefully not too long.

My local store has 45 copies pre ordered so Im kinda nerovus I didnt pre order mine >.<.
