T-70, TIE/FO expansion packs announced

By Danthrax, in X-Wing

Oh and since the T-70 can also take it it negates any closing of the gap between them.

Let's be honest here: you are not using Integrated Astromech on the T-70. The mod slot is taken by a certain other card which requires the Boost action.

Cool Hand looks good with stuff like Glitterstim too for the scum builds. Inject the stim, get a stress, then also get an evade token to make your defence EVEN better.

I'm thinking of using it instead of Crack Shot now.

That's great! I'm gonna put that on Laetin! ... Oh wait. I'm not. Cause somebody decided he can't get EPTs or Illicits. <_<

Not really impressed with the Integrated Astromech.

Oh sure, it's fine on the face of it, T-65 just gets more tanky, but we already have the B-Wing for the 20ish point tank. The T-65 should be something other than 'a different 22pt tank'.

I admit I was hoping for the boost to be added to their action bar, so that the T-65 was a superiority fighter and the B-Wing was the brawler.

Oh well.

I don't know. 4 Blue Novices + Mod + R2. Some extra survivability over 4 Reds.

I really wish they waited til Ep 7 to release this stuff. The release and announcement schedule's getting pretty crowded and it's hard to be excited for everything when there's so much coming, and realistically it'll be a while before I can buy/try it all out.

The name thing is also super annoying. Waiting til the movie was out could probably have solved it, but keeping all the Leaders and Aces and various colors straight is kind of a pain, and at least to me dilutes the fun of having a named pilot. Even a callsign like Whisper or Echo has more character than a designation like Blue Ace...

Sorry to dump a load of negativity in here. The ships look super cool, I just wish they had been handled differently.

I have to ask now, if you discard the EPT astromech, do you lose the EPT? Because if not, that's great.

Based on Epic, you would.

Uh-oh. You're right about Epic. Hmm.

Eh, could still pair it with any of the 'discard' EPTs. IE., R2-D6 with Crack Shot or Adrenaline Rush, for example. You get your once-a-game ability, and then can discard the droid to cancel a bad crit without losing anything.

and still cheaper than a shield upgrade. :D

Question regarding Juke, is it me or that card needs "selected dice cannot be modified again" text added?

Guys I don't think that's the xwing fix

That doesn't mean it isn't good however. Better To punt bb8 into space rather than lose wedge (and it's free!)

The value of Integrated Astro is very dependent on the cost of that astro that's giving free target locks. If that droid is 0 or 1 point then there's a real opportunity there.

Also the reason I now think the black T-70 will be in an aces set is that FFG (correct me if I'm wrong) has never released the same ship with a diff paintjob as a single blister release.

Correct?

So I really think we'll get T-65/T-70 (black) as a set.

I do think we will get a Rogue Squadron Aces pack for the T-65. What else it may have, who knows.

It's AMAZING on r4-d6 bigggs :D (****** just won't die!)

It's great on r7 tarn (can kick in after using its once per round effect)

And it's decent with bb8 (sucks to lose him, sucks worse to lose the whole ship)

I noticed that "Wired" that comes in the new core set isn't in either expansion. So you'd still need multiple core sets to have copies of it.

Your X-wing bump isn't an Xwing bump it doesn't do anything to bring the ship back out of storage and back to the table where it belongs. I'm not going to drop my shield upgrade to dump R2D2 into space it's not worth it. Make an X-Wing aces pack and try again.

I'm gonna have to use Cool Hands EPT simply because of how much I love that particular piece of art.

It's also not shabby with a Porkins using either R3-A2 or R5-D8.

Everybody who's been complaining the new crits don't include a Damaged Astromech crit? Here it is!

So helpe out here guys

Juke

*turns an evade RESULT --> focus

Is that one big "**** you, 3po" or am I just being too optimistic?

I need the book on hand to figure out the timing on this thing. Is it still attacker first?

It is worth it if you are dealt a killing blow... If you're dead R2D2 isn't going to be regenerating anything. You don't pop your astromech the first time you take damage.

You're being optimistic. C3PO triggers on the number of evade symbols you roll, not on anything that gets modified.

Juke will not effect whether or not Threepio will trigger. If the defender modifying dice has no effect, than neither will the attacker modifying dice.

But it will negate 3PO, as even if he guesses 1 and gets an evade for it, you can change the original so it is back to only one evade for the roll.

So:

Falcon rolls, calls 1. Rolls 1, gets another from 3PO

Fel uses Juke, changes the original roll from evade to focus.

Falcon can choose to use a focus on it.

Right?

You're being optimistic. C3PO triggers on the number of evade symbols you roll, not on anything that gets modified.

Plus, almost everyone using C3PO ona ship that's not about to die is guessing zero evades anyway.

Yes, that seems right.

I don't even see any TIE/FO pilots that aren't in the new Core Set.

I definitely think I'm picking up a damage deck from ebay then and skipping Core Set 2 altogether.

Also, the complaints about the 'generic' names for the named pilots, it isn't in FFG's hands. They have only been given certain names/characters, and being a new film without a bunch of EU around it (yet) most of the pilots we see flying in the film don't/won't have names.

I doubt Lucasfilm is going to let FFG randomly name characters from their new film.

They don't have to let them name characters from the film.

They could literally be ANY T-70 pilot in the galaxy.
