Social Networking: BatReps, Story & everything else

I'm thinking of creating a Twitter account

Posting video battle reports is one of my plans. As well as photographs. Some will likely be presented like a Rebellion/Resistance holonet broadcast, with my wonderful voice (or one of them) narrating events.

At other times, I'll simply sit by my tablet in a Jedi robe and talk. Talk about the hobby, previews, the movies etc. Other times, or more likely most of the time, I'll be telling the story from my latest RPG gaming. Unless I can drag a friend or two in front of the camera.

I'd like to just type up a short story and post it sometimes. This part I suspect isn't going to work as apparently you're limited in how much text you can post on Twitter. But I could be misinformed.

Does Twitter sound like a good partner to this forum for me?

One last thing:

If any of you have the Sphero BB-8.

When you record a message and he projects it, albeit on the tablet or phone, can you record the broadcast and share it via social networking?

Well, it is 140 characters per tweet. It's not a place to do long stories. It is (or can be) a great way to spread information quickly.

You might be more interested in say, a Tumblr where you'd have more space, both for video and for pictures or just plain text.

Twitter is highly reliant on engagement between the poster and the audience.

While I love Twitter as a source of news and a way to talk with favourite authors and artists, I don't think it is the best place for what you are looking to do.

But I could be wrong.

Tumblr does look like a good choice. Thanks for the tip.
