Hello,

With the new FO TIEs flying around, I was wondering if they might make a swarm list return to popularity? Now, I know swarms have never really gone away, but they seem to have become a solid “midpack” list. Do the new FO change that?

List that has been tossed around in varying forms at my FLGS is:

Epsilon Leader with Stealth Device

Howlrunner with PTL

Omega Ace with PTL

2x Black Squardon with PTL

Some lists reduce Omega to a basic FO and bulk up Epsilon and Howlrunner, others have swapped the Black Squads for a Jax. Basic plan is to stay in a strong formation, use PTL to focus/evade/TL, and Epsilon to clear your stress.

So, thoughts? Opinions? Old news and nothing special?

swarm is, in my eyes, at least 7 ships

would not recommend black squadron with ptl. Sure, epsilon leader, but limited greens on the base tie make things annoying

also, boo stealth device. Unless we're talking soontir, hull is far more reliable (since it actually does something )

Stealth and Push The Limit is nice. Indeed, I've seen someone use Black Squadron Pilots so equipped to drive enemies to apoplectic rage because for 20 points each the bloody things won't die.

I've had some practice with 6-ship squads, and those are still a swarm to me. 5 ships, I think, drops below the level you can call it a swarm, but 6 about does it.
