Marksmanship can be very good apparently.

I just want to make sure I'm not missing something. Typically, I think about Marksmanship when I want to get a crit through. Since the TLT cancels all dice results, you aren't getting that crit. But I can see how getting a focus for both attacks with Horton is great, especially when he's really not going to want to use focus on defense.

I think it costs 3 because of the crit effect. On Horton, though, it seems like a good deal since there isn't really a trade-off with using focus for defense vs. offense. The only concern is that you have to spend the point to give him an Elite slot with the droid. That's 10 points of upgrades on Horton. You better guard him well. Biggs would probably make this build worth it.

Not if he has Predator and doesn't want to worry about being blocked

While blocking and stress are concerns he's flying essentially a hlc outrider, flying directly at your opponents is not really effective when you shoot them just as well out of arc. Additionally you have 65 points worth of rebel list left which should be able to support his weaknesses or capitalize on him being focused down.

I'm the one that doesn't care to fly through obstacles to reach my objective; and with such a greenless dial it'll be hard to recover actions. Either way, I'm not sure I'd put an EPT on him. Putting Marksmanship on him is a lot of points when I may not be able to use it all the time. But, we'll see. Depends on what his backup is.

I use it for an alt-soontir build.

Marksmanship, autothrusters, experimental interface.

You still get your focus for defense, while punching harder than standard soontir.

Always wondered if people ever flew Soontir Fel with a load out other than "Royal Guard Pilot, PTL, Autothrusters, maybe Stealth Device"...

Kinda the same way I feel about Porkins, I guess. Yeah, you can use EI/Marksmanship, but PtL/Hull is more flexible and more survivable.
