Hello fellow gamers,

I am new to X wing (2 months) and this is my inaugural post to the forum. I am making the jump from Warhammer gaming systems and am stoked to delve into this game.

I enjoy list building and theory crafting on a regular basis. Couple that with my love for the TIE Defender and I have been trying to tailor a list that is competitive and fun without utilizing or relying on current meta themes.

Here is the list:

Maareked for Death

The idea is fairly straightforward. The list capitalizes on synergy between target locks activating the Advanced Targeting Computers for the TIE Advanced fighters and triggering Vessery's ability. I kept the list at 99 points for initiative bid but am on the fence about adding the Twin Ion Mk. II mod to Vessery.

I apologize in advance if this is already a thread elsewhere. I did a quick search but was unable to find a similar topic. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Very nice list. I think I would add the Twin Ion Engine Mk. II. Great synergy and solid.

I also love the TIE Defender. I have yet to try Vessery with the new and improved TIE Advanced, but it seems promising to say the least. I've had lots of fun and great games running Vessery and Brath, both with HLC and other goodies, and a 3-Delta build, each with a different cannon (Mangler, Ion and Flechette), which took out a Han+Leebo list.

The irony of relying on other ships for combat efficiency and having it have Lone wolf is palpable (no empire pun intended)

I dont believe enough in Alozen's ability id probably drop him to Colzet with AC freeing up 4 points

then you can give stele PTL, and MK2 to Stele and Vess

I would be tempted to drop Vader down to Maarek to fit another named advance pilot in but Vader is great.

I have to agree with lone wolf. I flew Vessery with LW & Redline hoping to capitalise on target locks but its really hard to keep them apart and focus on the same target without being picked off!

Ive run Colzet with ATC, and found it to hilariously enough be underwhelmingly bad consistent damage. thats why i give him AC, it insures 2 hits, and crits are no worry because he can flip 'em.

Also more often with a PS of 3 you TL one guy, and shoot at another. so this allows good damage and 'side crits' (crits on the side as a benefit, not as damage, necessarily)

@ Admat: I agree regarding the Twin Ion Mk. II. Without it, the Defender is too predictable when trying to shed stress. It just doesn't feel right leaving it behind.

@ Panic: Lone wolf, as cool as it is, does seem out of place after reading the feedback. I like the synergy with Colzet and the AC. I will try that out for sure.

@ JamieSpace: I'm glad to see you are entertaining thoughts on a similar list. I definitely want to run a permutation of the list that rolls with vader. The second list you posted looks solid. I am going to give it a shot with the only change being the downgrade of ATC to AC on Colzet.
