XKY - Embracing the new.

By Sonikgav, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Wouldnt mind some opinion on it as its what im gonna be flying come the 17th. Some new, some old with a few new tricks.

At first it feels kinda disjointed but its 3 individual ships working to one goal (a Disrupter, an Arc Dodger and a long range/High PS Harrasser/Token remover)

Red Squadron Veteran (33)
- Push the Limit
- BB-8
- AutoThrusters

Horton Salm (31)
- Twin Laser Turret

Warden Squadron Pilot (36)
- Extra Munitions
- Intelligence Agent
- Conner Net
- Cluster Mines
- Advanced Slam

100 points on the nose, any thoughts are welcome.

As much as I initially liked the thought of Cluster mines, I've flown over too many of them without taking damage. Proximity Mine, on the other hand, brings the pain.

I agree with Skargoth. The list looks quite solid though! I think you have the tools to deal with most situations, and each of your ships has its own flavor. I also really like that the cheapest ship (Horton) is the ship I think people will want to kill first. Finding 2 points to give him the EPT droid and VI would be worth it, as people would struggle to get into the range 1 donut hole without bumping.

Similar thoughts I had really in regards to Horton but the only wriggle room oils the Intel Agent and I reason he will be more valuable over the course of a game.

By changing the bombs I do get a point for Horton. I'm thinking either a nice safe R2 or maybe R4 (the trade stress to negate anything above 2 damage) to limit my incoming damage though I may just save the point for initiative.

If you drop on of the mines and give Horton R2-D6 + Marksmanship, makes horton much deadlier, however makes him a bigger target.

Isnt that kind of pointless since the TLT would override the Dice results anyway?

Id get the same benefit as far as the turret is concerned by just using a Focus action. The only other upgrade tempting me is perhaps an Engine upgrade to allow to Boost away from those trying to get in my Donut hole but not really worth losing those points elsewhere.

You're not in it for the crits, your in it for the ability to combine with Horton's ability for essentially two 3-dice TL+Focus shots.

You wouldn't care about the crits or the hits, Horton lets you roll your blanks on both attacks and Marksmanship turns focus to a Crit and hits on both attacks.

If you had just one focus token, it would only work for one attack. Plus you would have to choose either defence or offence. With marksmanship, you only need to worry about offence cause he's most likely going to be the biggest target anyway.

Ah, i see. See this is why i put my lists up here ;) lol
