Yeah there's no need for everyone to get snotty about it, we tested a "common knowledge" assumption and expanded everyones understanding of the rules sequence. If you already think you know everything then that's fine too!

The issue is, for some players, there is clearly a fundemental disconnect in regards to understanding how the rules for the game function in a general sense. This is true of all games and this leads to players, and play groups, having persistent issues with interpreting the rules. Getting clarifications for individual issues doesn't fix that disconnect.
In this situation it appears to be that while all applicable rules passages were consulted, they were needlessly second guessed. If the rules say players can resolve effects with the same timing in any order they wish then the is no reason to read more into that them what it actually says. You can't approach a ruleset in that matter. If the rules say X, and function with X working as such, then the rules mean X.
It is the same concept as the Demolisher and Engine Techs. You decide the "Order of Operations" if you will when effects are in the same timing section

Im still confused, why is this thread talking about both Defiant and Paragon? Is it just because they both add dice (and that its awesome) or because the OP is suggesting you can chain Paragon off Defiant?

I read them as being linked together due to the similarity between abilities. Paragon doesn't chain off of anything but a double-arc shot (or the advanced gunnery objective, if you're second player), since the "you" on the card refers to the Paragon and not the Rebel fleet as a whole. Defiance offers more choices of targets, the later you activate Defiance in the round. They're also similar in how the CF command interplays with them both, which has occupied the thread more recently.
