Hey everyone. My new favorite ship in this game is the T-70 X-Wing, I absolutely love how it looks and have been really pumped for the addition of the Dial/Boost/etc.

My problem is finding good list builds for it in a TLT meta. Obviously, I like that it can have autothrusters, but feel like the agility may not be high enough to really avoid TLTs regularly. I am a huge fan of Poe Dameron as a pilot, but I am not sure what to fly with him. Note- Poe isn't a requirement!

Obviously, we are still waiting on what other Tech upgrades etc. might be in store, but what builds have you all been having success with so far?

I had a lot of success with Poe - R2-D2, Vet Instincts and would add the tech upgrade just to make his pilot ability that much better.

A list I'd try out would be as follows:

I don't think the TLT meta is as much of a problem as the concurrent Fat Turret, Arc Dodger meta is the problem. The thing with the T-70 is that while significantly better than T-65s, TIE-Defenders, E-wings is that it has a firing arc which means any PS 9+ arc dodger knows where to boost/barrel roll to not get shot.

Now as for TLT well considering the X-wing has a native boost (for less cost then it would to give the T-65 a boost) it can take autothrusters which not too surprisingly works well against TLT. The TLT will average around 1-2 hit an attack but 2 dice with an autothruster triggered should get those 2 evades negating TLT attacks.

Poe shoots first in most match ups and can use R2 to keep himself healthy. Maybe one shot ties if he gets lucky (almost one-shotted a Tie/FO last night, would have with guidance) Red is there to punch holes in things/block high PS and bandits just do what they do.

Edit- It seems I'm the only one who runs Poe with R2-D2, seen a lot of BB8 builds which I guess works but the maneuverability he runs with even with greens seems to work for me. Saved my butt against PtL Fel last night at least.

R2d2 is good and I like this list, but if you have the card I would run poe with r5-p9....u can use your focus on offense and defense then at the end if the round spend it on r5 to gain a shield back

I find it really bizarre that Blue Squadron Ace doesn't have an EPT. Just another one to which EPTs rightfully belong...

BB8 + PTL is simply amazing. You have to try it to believe it.

TLT meta doesn't exist yet, so lets not assume anything

if you want to plan ahead, however, Poe + thrusters >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TLT. 3 hits or bust, baby!

with either BB-8 + PTL for unparalleled mobility (and some sensor-esque shenanigans, makes him real annoying for poor swarms) or r5-p9 for Corran-lite, he seems top tier material right out of the box.

no idea what to do with the other pilots. the Red vet has some interesting options with EPT + thrusters (predator + thrusters, wired + r3-a2 + thrusters), but he hits an uncomfortable 30 points

Blue Ace at PS 5 confuses me, and he basically needs r2-d6 because it's just criminal that he doesn't have an ept

Well, I have some good news and bad news.

The funny thing is, Blue Ace and Poe have their special abilities the wrong way round.

A daredevil-boost at PS 5 without an EPT is almost pointless; he's DOA. The ability to Luke-em-up with a Focus Token would be a good purchase at any PS, and indeed, actually gets better the lower PS the pilot (Because they can more safely spend that focus after more enemy lists would've fired at him). A PS8 daredevil... well hell, plenty of people fly Tycho pretty much for this reason alone, and this guy'd have attack 3.

Had the abilities been the other way round, you'd have two interesting pilots. I get that they mostly assigned them based on value (best ability => most expensive pilot), but it's still funny to consider that the alternative would've been just as awesome.

Reiver is right. I've been hesitant to share the same thoughts.

I'm thinking of giving this a go.

I might change out VI on the reds for Lightning Reflexes or Crackshot depending on what the meta looks like. I've been seeing a lot more mid range PS lately though so VI could still be useful especially with boost.

I agree though, I don't see any reason to take "Blue Ace" without and EPT. And giving him one with a droid is just too expensive.

PS 10,9,8. Hopefully it can shred a TLT Y in the first engagement and then you only have 3 to deal with. Wes and Wedge are the obvious first targets leaving a very tanky Poe for the end game. If they focus on Poe instead Wes and Wedge will hopefully blast them away.

Six hit points and autothrusters mean the t-70 isn't that worried about tlt.

He does have some crazy options available with BB-8. Hopefully some new Tech will help out. I was considering maybe trying it with R7-T1, it could be interesting as well...
