I'm posting this here as my hobby started a couple of months ago with X-Wing. Currently I own the original Starter Set, and contents, with 3 more Tie Fighters, the Millennium Falcon and Outrider.

I've also got Force and Destiny and Lords of Nal Hutta, ready for roleplaying as a Hutt who joins the Rebellion.

Armada was next on my list.

But there are lots of exciting changes ahead, and I find myself holding back collecting anything more.

One reason I'm holding back, I think, is that I'm more interested in learning what is going on in the Canon. Aftermath, Lost Stars and Shattered Empire are all on my "to read" list, though Aftermath is getting terrible reviews and I've read some excerpts and.....yikes!

But for the Canon I might invest some of my hobby budget on them and still have change for Age of Rebellion and extra dice.

Then wait

Wait until after I have saved up and bought a little droid by the name of BB-8 from Sphero.

By then I hope to know what is coming by way of ships for X-Wing, Armada and, perhaps, another RPG based on Resistance VS First Order.

FFG, if you're reading, I am dropping hints.

X-WING

I had lots of Empire plans for X-Wing. But I won't deny I like the cards and look of the New Order Tie Fighters. There's also a glimpse of, what appears to be, a Tie Shuttle in the "Starkiller base" trailer. While I'm not keen on the U-Boat drop ships, the long winged Lego shuttle suggests that would be cool too.

Dare I admit I really dig the New Order and hope to see the ships I mentioned in miniature form for X-Wing. Yeah even the U-Boats, they might be cooler than a quick glanced photo and Lego make them look.

Rebels I'm not too sure of. I like the new X-Wings, though I'd prefer the black and orange, with the exception of the intakes. There's one image that clearly shows a circular "jet engine propeller" that is just halved. Its a small nit pick on my part, but my eyes keep looking at it and I wonder how that's meant to work. They can't spin without a lot of damage that would likely end the starfighter with a crash down.

But then, I prefer the freighters, B-Wings, A-Wings and K-Wings so as long as they're still flying around I probably won't care about the X.

ARMADA

I'm sure the "New Order Star Destroyer", will turn up in Armada. But it'll have to be better than an ISD to find a place in my future collection. Probably use it as a command ship.

Finally, going full circle, I look forward to seeing some roleplaying opportunities. Though I'll probably game in the 30years between Endor and Jakku.

I for one am excited about the future of my gaming hobby. In the wait for New Order releases in X-Wing I can focus on Rebels. Might wait to see if there's a Force Awakens starter for Armada before beginning to collect that.

But next on my list to buy are the books and Shattered Empire. Be good to know some of the new Canon.
