Favourite Kihraxz build?

I plan on running a Cobra/Bossk list this weekend at a tournament. I have PTL, EU & Glitterstim on the Kihraxz but I still can't seem to build a YV-666 that I want to stick with.

If I had more than one each ship I would do it differently, but not til next payday.

Black Sun Ace w/ Predator: 26

Bossk w/ Marksmanship (3), Engine Upgrade (4), Hot Shot Blaster (3), K4 (3): 48

that leaves you with 26, which is enough for another strong ship or a couple of fillers. I've been running Palob with TLT

I've won my past 4 games with this list.

Great list! I agree that a 3rd ship would be best. I tried Talon+Bossk twice and Bossk just melted. Too many points on him can most likely be wasted.

Out of curiousity, how did you equip Bossk? I agree he makes a big target. The nice thing about my list is that everyone is a threat. I've found most of my opponents have focused on Palob (because he's a huge threat plus the annoying focus/evade steal) and the Khiraxz (because he's also a very real threat and only 1 shield). They usually leave Bossk till last, which gives him the chance to pump out mega damage. The first time you get hit with a range 1 marksmanship shot with target lock and take 5 damage (convert 1 marskmanship crit to 2 hits), you realize you can't ignore bossk, but by then it's too late.

Yeah, my list isn't very good. Theory crafting when Wave 7 was first spoiled. Here it is:

Talonbane (Lone Wolf, Glitterstim, Shield) - 36 pts

Bosk (Predator, Gunner, Mercenary Copilot, Outlaw Tech, Mangler, Hot Shot Blaster, Engine, Hound's Tooth title) - 64 pts

100 points

Like I said, WAY too many points on Bossk...

Syndicate Thug (25) Y-Wing (18), Extra Munitions (2), Bomb Loadout (0), “Genius” (0), Proton Bombs (5)

I ran this bomber loadout with 3x TLT Ys at NOVA and it really didn't pull its weight - wish I had a 4th TLT Y tbh.

I ran my The Spice Must Flow list last night, and it narrowly beat a Corran, Warden, biggs build, with a late protn bomb nailing Corran. It was immensely satisfying, but I must admit the Y was the weakest link by far. I just love a good theme though, and a spice dealing hwk with two strung out marauders, need a suicidal proton bomber ... Will try and find a fun alternative that isn't a cool, calm, tlt user :D

This is what I have been looking at. Latts can maintain 2 locks, and can even change them around when Bossk triggers. Crack Shot and Glitterstim combined with a Target Lock from TBC and the Black Sun Ace should be enough to put serious hurt out quickly and reliably. Downsides, no positioning after movement.

While I'm not very high on the K fighter myself, I always have had a soft spot for the mid range EPT pilots. And while it's likely not the greatest value, I like this build-

You're probably going all in on 1 turn, but your gonna hurt something bad when you do.

Serrisu

Do you shoot at Serrisu? If so, it should take a few shots to take her out if she Evades. If so, then that's another round of Marauders firing. If you fire at the Marauders, then Serrisu gives them a bonus. I tend to think that the amount of firepower to take out Serrisu when turtled is probably about the same as taking out a Marauder. So, which is the higher priority to fire at?

Besides that, I only have 1 Khiraxz Fighter. I want to build a build with 4-5 ships and my K-fighter. Not sure what to build, though.

Bossak with Calculation, K4, Outlaw Tech, EU

2x Pirate Z95s

I was trying it with an Ace in place of the two pirates but... I dunno, I think the Zs are just too helpful as blockers (either for the enemy or to keep Bossak in pace, stress free and with a target lock). The Ace did okay but I didn't feel particularly in control of the board, if you get what I mean.

I'm not 100% sold on the Ks yet though - they do go down easy (people really don't like this Cobra chap!) and I definitely miss the lack of a 1 forward. Hopefully after 6 or so games I'll be a bit more confident with them.

For an extra two points, I feel it's worth the insurance. Swarm lists will try to block Cobra and take away his action.

How about drop the Proton Bomb for a Prox Mine? Gives you 2pts to get an Autoblaster Turret as well. Lots of unblockable hits!

Absolutely, I like it! Actually was thinking of going seismic with auto, and upgrading one of the Khiraxz to assault missile. I love bombs more than mines at the moment, due to the multiple hit & area denial elements, and with genius you have a really really nice blocker.

I've only flown them once, but I'm impressed by the k fighter.

3 reds and a hard 1 are great.

Cobra seems very good indeed. I put predator, inertial dampeners and advanced crit missiles...quite fragile though.

I went with cobra, 2 ps2 k's and 2 Binarye z's.

Definitely going to fly it again at some point.

Just as a bit of a follow up on this - I ended up 2-3 so not a great result, though some of that was being new to half my ships.

In terms of Cobra... I'm torn. I really like this loadout, if you can get that Target Lock Stim on at range 1 you can out out a disgusting amount of damage.

Trouble being: I know this... My opponent knows this. If you're lucky it means he can act as a fairly brutal distraction, usually going out with a bang. If you're unlucky then you have 2 TLT Y wings running away from you, you misjudge staying out of range and you're looking at eating 4 damage.

So, against conventional weapons coming at you, fantastic, against defensive secondaries I'm not sure what you could do with him. Take an Engine Upgrade, I guess, but turns into a lot of points what are highly likely to explode a few turns in.

Also, I never knew how much I'd miss that 1 forward until it was gone. Yep, spot the old Rebels player. :)

I did try out five Marauders and they have worked their magic very well and they are fun to play, but I felt that it would need still some spice to be even more fun and to be more dangerous and what would be better ship to do that than Talonbane Cobra! I did try out variation leaving two of those Marauders off out of five and replacing them with two Scyks with Mangler Cannons, but my favorite is those Scyks with Ion Cannons. It was very good control list! I have played with it few times against Punisher lists and most of the time that Punisher is just sliding in space doing nothing else than getting wreckd by those Marauders..

And a cartel spacer with title and magler cannon.

I still lost but I had fun!

Crackshot + stim on Cobra actually sounds awesome (let's face it guys, even with EU you're just not going to make him maneuverable enough to face soontir or vader or whisper) for 32 points or a PS 5 for 26. TL and let fly :D!

unfortunately, my OCD forbids me from flying lists without a barrel-roll/boost/de-cloak/SLAM form of extra movement etc and Xizor's a bit too pricey for anything but 3 Marauders.

25 points, and gives you a ship of decent PS that can turn around or full-stop on command, after you've seen where all of the opposing generics have moved. Granted you can only do each once, but that one time can make quite a difference.

Well i gotta go with 5 Marauders. Because it's what the X-Wing can't do! With unhinged it's going to be a little fairer, but still 25 hp and 15-20 attack dice per round is not bad at all!
