couldn't have killed a blocked Jake without it
(crafty bugger had rolled 2 naked evades taking a fully modded xizor shot

I really like the amount of threat a little not-X-wing can put out. Really challenges its disposition as seeming the most boring ship of wave 7 ![]()
Hey Fickle, I ran two of those a few days afo, side by side, and they really put some hurt on a y-wing, dropping it to 1 hull in one round!
I've been trying to make them work as alpha stikers, going with clusters, stim and ps2, but I think I'll be staying with the aces now, as ps5 feels pretty worthwhile these days, and best of all, you can spread the damage spikes out over two rounds if they throw 0 evades.
My Updated 'the spice must flow' list is now...
2 blacksun aces with crackshot and glitterstim
N'dru with glitterstim, lone wolf and clusters
A spice runner with tlt and greedo
Greedo the supplier, with his stim-heads along for support! Three great alphas, decent ps spread, 5 good attacks a round thereafter, and the itching feeling that you're shooting at the wrong ship
- not a very competetive list perhaps, but it's getting closer.
I think the stim + crackshot Ace (or cobra) could be very competitive, actually. They're kind of like ordnance if ordnance was worth taking
(think about it: they need a target-lock for optimal roles, only get one-shot of stims and crackshot...)
Having another threat to follow Xizor along (as opposed to just five Pirates) is quite a refreshing change of pace, and the dial is quite the beauty
my only problem is I have select OCD about running squadrons with at least one boost/roll/SLAM/Decloak ship ![]()
wouldn't be a problem with cloaking device coming in...but ugh miserable dice failure there is making it really difficult to justify
Edited by ficklegreendiceI totally agree on the ordnance point - ordnance's biggg problem is its one-off gambling nature, whereas crack-glitter-heads get great defence on their alpha-strike round, can save utility if their dice are hot, or in a pinch can use their stims purely defensively.
They also threaten high-agility aces very effectively - your first ace can force, say, Fel, to burn tokens, then keep the crackshot to keep up the threat for later, while your second ace now has a clear shot on the baron. But of course, if your opponent leaves Soontir in arc of 2 generic ships, they really deserve to get crackshotted ![]()

Talonbane (Crackshot, stims) [31]
Palob (Crackshot, blaster, recon, moldy) [31]
leaving 38 points free for fun and games
which, for me, basically neceistates Xizor (99 points with two PS 9s, and one ship that can boost roll
)
though, I'm rather more interested in the torp boat pogostick. With Deadeye and R4, that thing can lob a painful proton torpedo at whatever Cobra/Palob strip the shields of.
Given the cost of Proton + munitions + deadeye + r4 = 9 points, the pogo itself would have to be 29 points (same as slaver).

Would it be too crazy or stupid to add Laetin A'shera(Heavy Scyk, HLC and Stealth Device) with 30p there? ![]()
I have not yet tried Laetin with that setup but it could just do well with four defence and always using evade token for being extra safe... And having that HLC it would be hard for the opponent to choose who to kill first, they would be equally scary at that point.

Great crits coming the opponent's way if you are smart about shooting priority.
It's a great little list. You've just got to be careful with your Scyks.
