A squadron of 12 X wings will sort that mess out...maybe...
22 TIE´s
Well I've got 5 Ties. Might get 1 more.
Then I think 12 New Order Ties for a total of 18.
Except that 24 ties = 324 points so is too many points for a standard Epic match. Also that is a very naked list with no support that will fall apart to Assault Missiles, Ion Torpedoes, Bombs, Ruthlesness etc...
...ramming
Come on bro you got your dials set yet???? what's the hold up???
Assault missiles. Lots of Assault missiles.
You could even destroy epic ships by just ... standing in the way ...
i would honestly love to see like 8 ties bite it just to bring down the corvette....
Not if the TIE's set fire to the rain first.
then they'll fight in the shade?
That's one way to spam the table and destroy any epic ship in a first volley...
:-/
Sir, there's a large group of fighters straight ahead!
Ramming speed.
Trust your dice, you know them to be true.
If there's someone foolish enough to fly 22 TIE's at me while I have a huge ship at my disposal, you can bet your sweet patootie that one move later you'll be missing about half of them and my ship will be rolling in the deep like Adele.
I don't see why this rule exists. If I'm flying 13 ships and I want to fly 13 TIE Fighters, I'll just make one a Scimitar Squadron bomber or whatever.
Ships that would 'break the game' when fielded in blobs of more than 12 are already limited to about 12 in a 300 point list, and already break the game at 10-12. This rule doesn't actually fix someone spamming generic TIE Phantoms or Lambdas or Bounty Hunters and just swinging their Death Star around the map.
Is 15x Alpha Squadron, 15x Autothrusters really much more broken than 12 Alphas and some other token ships thrown in?
Wowie, now I want to play epic just to field my 8 LNs and 6 FOs. Fill 4 Bombers for swarminess?
Ugh, and I barely play Imperial...
I don't see any Ninjas?To many Ninja´s, run! RUUUUN!lol ... 2x ninja'd
You're not supposed to.
I don't see any Ninjas?
That's how you know they're there.
18 Tie Fighters would be aesthetically pleasing - a mix of Black Squadron Pilots with Crack Shot and 9 Omega Squadon Pilots with Crack Shot makes for a scary opening salvo....

It's there to keep the number of actual ships under control. 12 ties is plenty enough for players to even keep track of durring a game. It is really easy to loose track of who has activated or if dials were even set on some ships once you get to that scale.

Indeed, which makes it very interesting to be able soon to field 22 more-or-less the same fighters. Sure there are differences in colour and a little bit in shape. And you can throw in the blue TIE/ln's from the Imperial cruiser carrier for extra difference. But still..., see what you and your opponent make of it after three hours of play and just starting round 3....

These aren't the Ninjas you are looking for.

I'm going to love when the Gozantis appear! I can see fielding three Gozantis which means 12 Ties right there, plus a full squadron of FOs! Thats 24 TIEs! Plus we'll have to have a smattering of Squints, Advanced and Phantoms to round things out! Then we can decide on a point limit! Table aesthetics come first!!!

Yes you can have both. They are not the same ships.
Pretty much sums it up. Just like the TAP is not the same ship as the TIE-Advanced the TIE FO is not the same as the (classic) TIE-Fighter.
If you wanted you could drop it down to 20 Ties, that way you can add howlrunner with Stealth, Omega Ace, Espilon Leader, Dark Curse, Winged Gundark and Night beast. Lol
Here is the reference:
