22 TIE´s

By Cununculus, in X-Wing

Yes, 22

With Epic you are allowed a maximum of 12 ships of the same type.

So, 12 TIE/ln´s

But the New Order TIE´s are called TIE/fo.

Can we therefore conclude these two can be combined into a humongous Epic squad of 22 TIE fighters?

11 Academy Squadron Pilots and 11 Epsilon Squadron Pilots for instance. :)

To be launched at you opponent(s) in two waves?

Oh I wanna do this.

Yes you can have both. They are not the same ships.

Excellent Smithers. Excellent.

Except that 24 ties = 324 points so is too many points for a standard Epic match. Also that is a very naked list with no support that will fall apart to Assault Missiles, Ion Torpedoes, Bombs, Ruthlesness etc...

Hence 22...

But yeah it is a naked list, best played on a large table.

A friend of mine alerted me to this idea.

I think it is a headache, but also fun.

If you play with a team of two you can each assign a squadron.

Your opponent is going to be having a headache two.

Indeed, that´s why the title mentions 22 TIE´s ;)

Of course 11 of each is just a thought. You can build in Howlrunner or another TIE/ln or TIE/fo ace in there.

If you choose 12 Academies and 10 Epsilons it leaves you with 6 points to upgrade one of them to higher status.

Or you can choose to have several high PS aces and create two squads of, let´s say 10 each.

The main thing is you will have more than 12 TIE fighters on the board. The thought of that is just overwhelming :D

I guess thats the reason for 22 Ties, like in the title and OT.

Sorry for the double post nope, no double post, TheRealStarkiller was faster

Hence 22...

I was ninja´d!

Now I know how that feels :P

I'll better get back into my cockpit.......

22 Ties would be ... VERY ... time consuming

That's one way to spam the table and destroy any epic ship in a first volley...

:-/

Yes, a headache indeed. But think of the pain your opponent must go throught, trying to predict what a 22-ship-swarm is going to do!

At the end the battle will be one by the last (wo)man who has not succumbed to a maniac-laughing-fit

You could even destroy epic ships by just ... standing in the way ... :D

Sir, there's a large group of fighters straight ahead!

Ramming speed.

Trust your dice, you know them to be true.

If there's someone foolish enough to fly 22 TIE's at me while I have a huge ship at my disposal, you can bet your sweet patootie that one move later you'll be missing about half of them and my ship will be rolling in the deep like Adele.

Not if the TIE's set fire to the rain first.

Not if the TIE's set fire to the rain first.

CR-90 Skyfall moves last. :P.

This is the best thing I have read all morning.

I think i'd prefer 19 ties...

12 alpha squadron and 7 tie/ln.

That is no battle, that's a parking lot
