Sorry for the clickbait. What does this mean for Armada? Well, generally they reuse art they make, and once something appears in a product, there's a bigger chance of it appearing in another product. (Think Hound's Tooth, Punishing one from Armada to X-wing, Raider from X-wing to Armada and probably numerous other examples from the LCG which I can't specifically name since I haven't played it.

We just caught a glimpse of what Home One is for, what do you think the purpose of the Liberty will be?

As to your actual question....pure speculation, but to me it should be a bit more of a carrier via the title. The sole basis i have for this is that it's the command ship throughout X-Wing Alliance, which of course is heavily fighter based. Very tenuous, i know

Alternatively, i guess it could have the ability "If attacked by a superlaser, automatically remove this ship from the game. While this ship is in play, superlasers may not target other ships", or something!

I think that the liberty type mc80 will be a ship in future waves l, probably designated the mc80a as I believe it was in lore.

I think it will be unique in that it will be front arc dominant since it's more wedge shaped like an ISD. Generally these cruisers were a little smaller then their home one type counterparts so this could either be the smallest large type ship or the largest medium. It should be more points than a VSD but less than an mc80.

I think it should be 3/3/4 for either variant with 4 red 3 blue front, 3 red 2 blue sides and 2 red one blue aft on variant A. Variant B should have 3 red, 4 blue front, 2 red 3 blue sides and 1 red 2 blue aft.

Both variants should have speed 3 with the same clicks as the space whale. Shields would be 5 front, 3 sides and act maybe? (could be 4,3,3,3 if you think the 5 facing is two much) and have 7 hull points. The blue dice variant would have redirect x2, brace and contain, while the longer range red dice variant would have redirect x2, brace and evade!

Finally, the red dice variant would support the following upgrades, officer, gunnery team, offensive and defensive retrofits, ion cannon and turbo lasers. Blue would be the same except it would have 2 defensive retrofits instead of the offensive one since it has to get closer to engage.

Cost would be between 92 and 100 points

Two named ships of this class would obviously be the Liberty, and the Maria (present in several x-wing games.)

Liberty title card would be 10 points but provide an extra point of squadrons AND an additional offensive retrofit slot.

Thoughts?

Its coming, don't worry! It's the only other large rebel ship that actually appeared in the movies. FFG knows we are powerless to resist.

yeah that art doesn't really have the detailed 'texture' of the liberty type down. kinda plain and cartoony. that said I don't care if the card art looks bad as long as the model looks awesome!

Liberty was already a card in the LCG before this "Liberty-Type" was spoiled. Check it out on CardGameDB. It is a good image.
