Does this half-engines of the new X-Wings even work?

You're assuming the intakes are designed to push a turbine or do something similar to what they do for our terrestrial aircraft. For all we know they could simply be heatsinks.

Well, when they're reverse thrusters as opposed to intakes, much like the ARC-170, and the "Solar panels" aren't solar panels, but radiators...

...It's a little less "True" science fiction.

Got three core sets at Target over the weekend. Both the T70 X-Wings and the TIE/FO were very fun to play. Trying to figure out if the are point costed correctly relative to the classic X-Wing and TIE Fighters. Are there any tech upgrades other than the targeting computer one in the new core set?

I get you... I am not here to be a smarty big-shot... I do not care about any of that showy stuff because this is fun... NOT a job, and I buy my own toys.
