Oro turns to Rax and looks him up and down, sizing him up for the first time. "I suppose since you won't be driving anything during this, grab a gun, find a place to hide, and try not to shoot one of your own men. You have seen combat outside the cockpit of a fighter, right?"
Edge of Darkness IC
Rax snorts. "I grew up in a Coruscant slum, pal. Me and my buddies hung out in places the bucketheads were too scared to go. I've got my own piece, I'll just get behind something and start blasting until someone tells me to go for the truck."
Edited by GalthUnsure of what to do, Geoff keeps close to the others in the team. First operation. Hopefully it stays quiet for us.
Adjusting the straps again, Geoff draws his holdout blaster and checks the pack on it. This is insane, throwing everyone into an operation.
Nervously, Geoff looks around, keeping the blaster pointed down and away from the rest of the team. **** it, the last time I fired this thing was at small sport range.
"You and Toco are the tactical experts. Where do you want me?" Geoff asks quietly to either of the more experienced soldiers.
Edited by SaroneOro grins at Rax. "I'm just giving you a hard time, kid. If you couldn't handle yourself, I'm sure they wouldn't have put you out here.'
He turns to Geoff. "That's not a bad point. Let's see what our vantage point looks like once we get into this house."
Breaking in is easy enough - CeeTee easily manipulates the old manual lock and the door slides open. Inside is a hallway leading through to a door into the street to your rear, with a staircase rising up from one side of it that climbs three floors. There are flats with windows facing both streets on each floor, and as you go to one window you see other Rebels sneaking into various houses or setting up parts of the ambush. In a courtyard next door a speeder parks up and its weapons are removed from their hidden compartments to be installed. A low thrum of energy tells you that they are powering up.
Rax nods and grins slightly at Oro, relaxing a bit. "Just a bit of BP, eh? Tell ya what, how about first one to bag an Imp buys the other a drink? Gonna need a drink after this dust-up." Rax looks around the house. "I'll take a ground floor window, so I can get to the truck when it's time to pack it in."
"Geoff, I could use a spotter." Toco gestures for him to follow as he starts to heads up stairs. "Help me secure the 2nd floor."
CeeTee, being unable to climb stairs very quickly chirps an goes with Rax
"Rax, when we get back to base i want to see if we can find a jetpack that we can attatch to my legs... implement them..."
Hearing Toco, Geoff nods. "Got it." Hearing the R2 unit, Geoff shakes his head. "We probably need a look out down here anyway. Plus, you might be able to see stuff we might not have."
Then again, he might be a better spotter than I am.
You each take up your positions within the house. Toco and Geoff occupy a window on the second floor, a long way off the ground. Rax positions himself at a window on the ground floor at the front of the house, with CT nearby. Oro and Issan are still choosing their positions when the low thrum of repulsorlifts is heard from the street. You tuck yourselves into the shadows as the long and stately line of Imperial vehicles slowly moves down the street. There is a tank in the lead, and another bringing up the rear, but other than that the convoy appears as unprotected as planned.
The night's silence is broken by the whoosh of rockets launched at the vehicles. The tanks explode in bursts of flame and shrapnel, before explosive charges embedded in the roadway detonate. Supply trucks are flipped or destroyed outright, and the others come careening to a stop. Around you, the Rebels in other houses are shooting down into the convoy. Below you, a team of Rebels led by Zavvel comes sprinting forward. Reaching the nearest intact transport, they break open the doors and begin lugging crates back to the nearby speeder. The first of them, a Rodian, is just approaching the archway towards the yard containing a speeder when he is struck by a blaster bolt. He collapses to the floor, crate smashing as it hits the ground and spilling power clips everywhere. Suddenly the tone of blaster fire shifts up a notch, from the occasional shot at a sign of movement to a steadily growing gun battle.
"Contact, contact!" Marson's voice rings clear across the comlink. "It's a trap!"
Can I ask for a Simple (-) Vigilance test from each of you, to serve as an Initiative roll?
Edited by ColonelCommissarThere's no difficulty to an Initiative check. But thanks for that!
Initiative roll - Vigilance: 1eP+1eA 2 successes, 1 advantage
My blaster pistol pops out of one of the flaps on my dome head.
Vigilance: 2eA 1 success, 1 advantage

Seeing the Rodian fall, Geoff quickly looks around for the source of the shot. ****, this an ambush.
Looking back at Toco, Geoff tilts his towards outside. "Do you need me up here? Otherwise, we have wounded and I need to get down there."
"Go downstairs, but don't run out there just yet."
"Yeah, let's not go out there until we know what we're facing. If our doctor gets shot, who patches him up?'
Hearing Oro's comment, Geoff nodded. "Maybe, but that's why you and the Hawk-bat up there are trained in weapons. "
Getting close to the door, Geoff peaks out as he keeps his blaster pointed down. "If there's anyone that needs to be carried, I'll do it. You and Toco make sure any one taking aim at me is taken out first."
After hearing Toco's and Oro's response, Geoff heads down stairs, psyching himself for running out the door to get a casualty...
(Action: I am planning on moving down stairs. How many casualties are there? Are there any that are moving? Any that can't move?)
Edited by SaroneAt the moment we've only had 5 out of 6 initiative checks so we're not doing actions since we're not yet in structured time. I'm liking the enthusiasm though!
Edited by ColonelCommissarOro wonders where that Twi'lek went with his recording devices...
Initiative check: 3eA 3 successes, 1 advantage

I've made Issan's roll to speed things along. Sorry man, but I've got to keep it going!
The sides of one transport, stopped near the front of the building, swing open, disgorging a dozen Stormtroopers into the street. They open up a rough suppressing fire in the surrounding area, but don't appear immediately to have seen you. However, you spot such ambushes up and down the convoy - it's obvious to you that the ambush has been ambushed. There's no time to consider this though - only to fight. The Stormtroopers appear to be in four groups of three, two in front of the transport facing you and one on each end of it, firing diagonally down the street.

Edited by ColonelCommissarToco speaks into his Comm, "If someone sees a target of importance call him out."
He opens fire on the closest group.
Maneuver to Aim and fires his Blaster Rifle. (Difficulty?)
It's at medium range and I'm flipping a Destiny point so one red and one purple
