Edge of Darkness IC
Issan chuckled at that. "True, I've guess we've already tested out a plausible solution there."
Shrugging at Toco's and Oro's response, Geoff listens to the rest of the group, then sighs. Guess this is what happens when you get pushed to the front lines. Hopefully it doesn't come back and bite us in the arse.
"Like Oro asked, when do we leave?"
"Tonight. You'll do it under cover of dark - means less chance of your precious civvies getting caught while we're out."
"Captain." Toco stands up slowly. "Sounds like a good target, but killing civilians will only hurt our cause."
He takes one last glance at the holo, "Night is the right time to strike."
"Don't worry. So long as you lot are careful, there'll be no civilian casualties."
Placing his hands on his knees, Geoff looks at the rest of the team, then back at the Captain. "Sir, I don't have any more questions."
For you, Captain. Doesn't mean I'm not going to be asking other people questions. Especially Doc Cohlen.
"Well that's good to hear. Anyone else? No. Take these," he gestures to the charges. "And get set. I want you on the road by 1900."
The charges are Encum 2
Nodding at the Captain, Geoff looks at the others. "I have to check on the patients in the medbay and see if there's any gear that might be useful. Which reminds me..."
Reaching into his pack, Geoff grabs one of the new stimpacks he requisitioned from the medbay. Double checking it, Geoff hands it over to Toco. "Thank you for handing me yours, Toco. It was useful for helping the others. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be without one."
Looking at the others, Geoff tilts his head towards the medbay. "If anyone needs a stimpack, let me know now. It might be a pain in the rear to carry, but better to have one on hand than wait for me to carry you back to the medbay."
Once he hears how many people need one, Geoff grabs his backpack and heads to the medbay. Hopefully Doc Cohlen gets more of these stimpacks. I don't want to go through them like candy, but they are just too useful for us.
[Action: Hand Toco one of the newly acquired stimpacks, then see if everyone has one on hand before heading to the medbay.]
Edited by SaroneOro grabs one of the charges and throws the strap over his shoulder. "Ready to blow stuff up."
"Well that's always a good thing to hear. Don't take too long sawbones, I want you out of here on the dot of 1900."
CT grabs the other charge putting it in a compartment.
i then roll out of the briefing room to the workshop to try to replace the 2 repair patches I used and to also make sure that the truck is ready.
Over at the workshop again, you find a hive of activity. The truck is just being reassembled, and paint pots are laid by to cover up the nicks and dents from the night's adventures. You find the repair kits easily enough, though Chief Vwikk does insist on imposing a charge of 50 credits on them 'to cover expenses'.
Edited by ColonelCommissarI take 3. 75 credits left behind
Edited by TitchFenderSorry, my mistake, they cost 25 credits each. You only need leave 75!
Going into the medbay, Geoff does one last check with the patients before going to the supply room with the stim packs. Writing down four more stimpacks, Geoff looks for Doc Cohlen.
"Greetings Doc Cohlen, I'm about to head for a mission. But I was wondering if you can get us some more information about this planet, the people, and history, as well as some culture information. My team and I were not briefed about this place at all. I would also need a brief about what issues are plaguing both the cell and the local populace, since I need to get a report to the RRM."
Checking the chrono, Geoff swears up a storm as he realizes he was late. "Need to run. Good luck with the patients and the medbay."
Running to the brick, Geoff quickly unloads the EMC, getting it secured and booting in the truck. Geoff then looks at Tookur and tries to get the Chadra-Fan's attention. "The EMC will be left here in the truck. While it might be missed in the field, leaving here and prepped will help us when we get back to it. I am also leaving a stimpack in case you need one. I hope you won't need it, though."
Letting the EMC boot up, Geoff hands Issan, Oro, and Rax a stimpack each. "Keep that on you in case it is needed and I'm not available. it will also help me out incase I need to use one and you're out."
Once the EMC was booted up, Geoff goes over and grabs a sachel. "Can't let it be known that doc won't share the burden, now."
[Altogether, bought seven stimpacks, and have handed one to Rax, Issan, Toco, and Oro. The of the remaining three, two will be on me and one left with EMC in The Brick. This is both for immediate use and incase Tookur needs it. Spent 175 of 500 credit allotment.]
Edited by SaroneRax heads out to meet with Tookur and see if there were any upgrades available for the Brick that could be attached before embarking.
"And good luck to you too!" Cohlen calls after Geoff as he runs off down the hall. "**** workaholic," she grins. Meeting the others at the truck, they climb aboard, settling into the truck. Rax and Tookur set themselves up in the front as Chief Vwikk waves towards an opening hatch. The truck turns to face it, and the Verpine comes up to the driver's window. "Any last checks?"
What upgrades were you thinking of? Throw me some ideas
Having got my repair patches. I see Geoff setting something up in the truck. I roll over to him and hand him one on the 3 repair patches I grabbed.
"You know Doc, like you said, just in case"
Then having done that I head to the nearest computer terminal, plug in and try to find anything out about this rock that I can
Seeing the droid hand him the patch, Geoff puts in his back, then walks over to CT. The little guy has a good processor, taking into account civilian casualties.
"Good job asking the questions about the civilians, CT. Ain't no way to win the war if we can't show the people we are better than the Empire." Nodding to a few others, Geoff looks back to CT.
"By the way, did you download a copy of the schematics for the bridge and surrounding area," Geoff asks the droid, before crouching to the droids height. Looking around, Geoff whispers to CT. "If you don't mind, I want to go over those schematics and the plan. Maybe there's a way to either not use as many charges. Or we could go for a bit more destruction of the bridge. What do you think?"
Looking back at Geoff, "Yer, I don't believe in killing if they aint shooting at us first, or shot at us before!" Then turning my binary speaker down a bit, "Yer I'll grab the schematics and we can go over them to look at things. maybe a bit of research could be done to better know about the structure, and weak points, if there are any...
Once CT gets the plans, Geoff goes into the back of the truck and starts working with CT over the plans. Let's see if there is a better way to do the job...
Mechanics Roll for Sabotage Mission: 2eA+2eP+4eD 2 failures, 1 threat

After what seems like an eternity, Geoff rubs his eyes, looks at CT, and sighs. "I got nothing."
Geoff is getting more and more concerned with the mission, and as they drive on it starts to get to him.
I'm not sure who drew more blanks, Geoff or the dice. Take 1 strain.
CT just quizzically whirs...
Hearing the droid whistle, Geoff looks at CT. "I don't know, CT. I'm looking at this and I am unsure how to place the charges beyond what the Captain suggests. Once we're in the area we can check it out, maybe see if the stone structures are as good as the Intel says."
